You have to factor in the footprint of the plant. If you are using full spectrum COB LED then I would recommend 20-30 watts per square foot (only for vegetative growth) with the light around 24 inches above the plant at this stage. I would factor in at least a 2x2 growing area, so 4 square feet would require 80W-120W. If you want to be able to grow them out completely indoors then you need 35 or more watts per square foot for COB LED. If you go with cheaper lights with regular old LEDs then you will need more wattage than that.

Barely enough for a single plant in veg. I have two of those that I used to use in a small tent to start plants. If you want to provide it with enough power to get it through until the sun is out for longer then I would go with at least 120 actual watts of LED. That light only draws 50W.
I couldn't really find any bulbs for 120w online but I found this and I might buy it and use it until it more sunny

That light only draws 6W to 8W and you need closer to 120W.
So I bought this, I will the invest in a proper one when I get my wages this month something stronger than 120w. But I hope this would be enough to get by until I get paid end of the month, this should arrive by next week or two then I will fit it into my light fitting and close the curtains and hope it helps, if anything else I might get a portable bulb holder and put it in my wardrobe as it small enough for one grow about 1meter high maybe

You need to stop going by the wattage you see in the item title. Those numbers mean it is equivalent to a 100W lamp, and it actually draws closer to 12W. You need a light that actually draws closer to 120W. You need to read the product details and look at the actual power consumption.

Plus I am trying to advoid paying higher electricity cost as I don't pay for the bills, I would be out of a home by end of the week
Then you would be better off starting your plants outside when the time is right. If you can't provide suitable light indoors, until then, then you are just wasting seeds.

Thinking out loud. I got few led free standing lamps around the house, not cheap ones and it gives about 6500k white led light (I cannot see wattage one of them) would that be okay to use as temporary thing until I get proper red and blue led grow light bulbs

I was planning to moving it outside In the garden but I think it too cold at the moment
I'd suggest waiting until it's nice outside and start over out there. You'll be much happier with the results.
I just saw few Light bulbs for growing, could I simply switch out the light bulb in the room and use that?
No. It doesn't work like that. You'll lose a lot of the power the light has if it's in a nearby fixture. The light needs to be 18-24" from the plant, and reflected right at it if you're going to see any meaningful results.

Good luck!

I placed a 60w white Led light next to it, I just have ordered a full spectrum led light bulb 150w e27 and plug in bulb holder and going to place it in my wardrobe and I just have a another seedling as my friend given me load of seeds for free(same genetic) and he did his grow in his greenhouse outside and produced about 50grams of decent smoke but he been growing various types of vegetable and plants though out his life. So mine was more of a experiment /try and test method. As I seen various different topics, opinions and ideas and I personally just wanted to see if theses people are chatting rubbish or it actually possible to grow it indoors with natural lighting. However I wouldn't be crying if I got if anything less than score out of this first plant, but as TreeFarmerCharlie said I probably get shit smoke out of first plant so for this new one I'm going to keep it under the led light 20/4 and see how that goes as it same genetic as one I'm growing now.

Im not taking the cake but from ur personal experience is a "coloured" grow light better than white full spectrum. As I order white full spectrum and I see coloured full spectrum lights too

The lights that look purple aren’t bad for vegetative growth, and some people use them for flowering, but I personally don’t like them. If you don’t have everything enclose in a closet or tent then those lights can really bother your eyes, too. There is a COB LED light on Amazon that I usually recommend for people who have a tight budget that usually is priced anywhere from $89 - $129 (last I checked it was $99) that is advertised as 1500W but it actually draws 300W and it works well. You should be able to find it if you search for Yueme 1500W LED Grow Light. It’s cheaper than a lot of the blurple lights and it’s a better light then them, IMO.

Im going to have look around for the UK alternative as they don't ship here unfortunately. But at the moment I got two 65w white led lights running at the moment, places it in my wardrobe, and for extra measure I took out energy saving lamp too that provides about 40w hanging above it. Then once I found a alternative for that lighting kit I order it ASAP

Just a update, so far they seem to reacting positively, I placed the seedling and I carefully took the seed casing off and what do you think?

Also keeping it simple and easy for now!?
Best recommended dosage of fertilizer for main plant and for how long? (is tomato fertilizer good or bad????)

The seedling looks healthy. You won't need any fertilizer until veg, and maybe not even that early, depending on what you are using for soil. In the future you should use soil meant for seedlings. They can have a hard time in soils that have mulch and sticks in them. Type of fertilizer is a touch call, because there are so many options available for both salt based and organic. The best advice I can give you is to find something that is easy for you to understand how to use and never start feeding it at the full dose they recommend. I used Advanced Nutrients Sensi Grow A&B for vegetation and Sensi Bloom A&B for flower in my last two grows and had great results. I've never fed more than half the dose recommended for every salt based nutrient line I've used.

Im using multi purpose compost at the moment, I'm gonna browse on amazon and see if I can grab a bottle, so far main one reacted well to tomato fertilizer I gave it, I checked the number and it is 4-3-8, i hope she manage to get few more Inches In before flower season, and for the seedling I hope that grows big and strong haha.

But to be honest with you I definitely going to invest in small list of items to have for growing just weed. I believe so far auto has been /seem easier and depending on what strain you get, they can be small which is good for me as I don't really want to invest in a grow tent(space is also limited due to viability) and I just want to keep it small and cheap under £100/$115 as I will be doing one plant a time depending on the yeld and smell.
If anything else once this bulb arrives I will finish off seedling and then reorganise the space correctly.
But I'm thinking What wrong with a lamp (with correct grow bulb and wattage) hanging upside in wardrobe compared to the lighting units lol. It just saves me few extra pounds hahab

I see, as this is for personal and just hope to get few decent buds out of it, as I just read a lot of different stuff I genuinely didn't expect massive plant. But if she does get at least 10 hour if not more of daylight and doesn't seem to suffer from that aspect, watering I have am having no problem with it, and they say this plant should grow up to 60cm
You should never try to start any photoperiod or autoflower in a window sill. And the plant is suffering If it was planted just outside or inside with good lighting your plant would of probably been close to 6 inches or bigger with side branches already. Even if you get a light now it wont do as good because it's growth has been stunted for the 3 weeks and you can't get that time back with autos. I would pop some more seeds and would get photoperiod.

The only lights from Amazon that I would recommend would be the one I mentioned a few comments back or one of the lights from Horticultural Lighting Group. The only reason I mentioned the one I did was because I have personal experience with it.

Yes I know, but I had a look around and your recommended light doesn't ship to me on amazon and cost more to ship it over here than buying one that available over here
