light and tent are 2 things that you will spend most the money in the budget on. Unless you can make a space in the house to grow in. Maybe an empty closet, or a space in the bedroom.

you don't wanna skimp out on the fan.. need one powerful enough to pull/push thru a carbon filter. not sure on the aerodynamics lol but I got a 295cmf exhaust fan for $65.. coulda went cheaper but don't wanna take the chances that a cheaper fan may cause issues with the odors.

I'm using 2x Philzon n"Newest" 600 LED lights. pulling 108W each from the wall. both bloom and veg switches flipped.
How do you like them? I just got a really good deal on a blurple phlizon 1200w so I’m gonna give it a shot on my next go around.

I gotta say that I like them. But this is my first grow.. was looking for an "Green" way to stimulate the economy... so I said fak it lol (What do I know?)

So far I see that I could use more light so I added some cheap QB boards in to add light to where the philzon's par faded on the ends.

I agree with you on the spider farmer, Doug. I like them a lot, but if I'm going up to $300. the Budget Grow light with more power also becomes attractive at $350.. Do you have an opinion of them?
Thanks for the exhaust link, if I get a 4inch instead of 6 inch, the savings go to the light.
I don't know that light but did notice some things in the specs you may want to pay attention to. At 18" the SF2000 PPFD shows the light brightness at 974 in the center. The budget light at 18" shows the PPFD center at 900 so the SF2000 has a more powerful light output.

What’s your height from top of plants for the 600s? I’m new to leds so I’m gonna have to dial it in but, I’d love an idea of where to start.

I didn't say it was.
Never said you did, the website itself does "budget"growlights.com
No, with a 200.00 balance allocated for lighting you cannot afford the best. For those like my broke ass self, the blurples will get you there, the spider and mars will do it better, and I don't even think about the "best". For the cost of "the best" I'll pick up my soldering iron again and see what I can come up with.

You should stay away from those Philzon lights or anything blurple.

If you go with Spider Farmer thats another chinese company and you said you were worried about ordering from china.

Have you looked into HLG? I've never used them but they're very popular.

I would also recommend a 6 inch fan instead of 4 since sound is an issue for you. Once you hook up a carbon filter and ducting the cfm will drop quite a bit. A 6 inch fan on a controller wont be as loud and will still move plenty of air.

I didn't get it until after I replied :)
I'm sure I can't afford the best one either, but this is a lot of effort, and I don't want to be under powered.
I'm also a real procrastinator, so decisions are tough.

Thanks for pointing that out.
One of the reasons the budget intrigues me are those deeper red diodes. I recently saw a video by Dr.Bugbee and he mentions these wavelengths being important.

I actually have a blurple light, I bought, when I got my tent about three years ago. I've been looking for it, but it hasn't turned up yet.
I will look into HLG, I've seen the name. I'm less worried about buying from well established chinese brands, if I'm buying directly from the company.
They have knockoffs of everything including food.

You're right, there are knockoffs of just about everything out there.

I was going to buy from Spider Farmer too until I heard a few bad incidents with their after sale support. There was a member on here that had a sf1000 for 3 weeks before it stopped working and they wouldnt replace it until they took down a bad review. Their warranty is pretty shit in my opinion too.

I understand why you're hesitant to buy from Alibaba and if you dont mind spending more for peace of mind there's nothing wrong with that.

I wanted to thank you guys for all the great advice.
Things are lining up.
I'm waiting for the spider farmer 2000, as well as an ac infinity 6 inch exhaust. A little more than I wanted to spend, but these look like good choices.
I'm gonna use 5 gal fabric bags, I was able to get the small ocean forest and happy frog (12 quart). I will mix with pearlite and some clean topsoil.
I can't believe how hard it is to get soil, everything is miracle grow. Hope to finish my shopping this week, I'll start a new post when I get set up.

Hey Chronnie, sorry I missed replying to you,
I went for the spider farmer, their warehouse is in my state, so I know I will get it quickly.
