My beloved x-country skiis ( all manufactured in Scandinavian countries ) I purchased over the years , decades ago , way up in Canada ( they received better
quality skis than USA ) . Probably put 100,000 miles on those sleek slabs of wood.
When tar is burnt in correctly and wax is just right , it's like riding in a Rolls Royce.
These modern , synthetic skiis are a whole different story.........different feel......
......it effing sucks ..........just my opinion.

I also have a Stanley LED spotlight that is seriously bright.
I've had the same one for 6 years and it's my go-to for bumps in the night. The thing is indestructible. My place is 1/2 mile from the Appalachian trail as the crow flies. Wish I had hiked it when I was younger.IMG_20230307_224943067~2.jpg
I took this a couple nights ago and have no idea where the green glow came from.
Going to be keeping an eye out for robot aliens :bigjoint: IMG_20230306_031519685.jpg

My son gave to me a photo from the National Archives in D.C. , the USS Matagorda was a Seaplane Tender , a very heavily armed ship with a shallow draft. My father, like most guys back then , dropped out of high school and went to war. He was a CPO / Gunners mate . He actually completed his service on this ship for four years , surviving the treacherous North Atlantic ( German U-boats up the ass and the Luftwaffe ) and many other war zones. In one month , those f'ing Nazis sank over 400 allied ships .
