This is the picture in question...The question that the thread was started over was "Are these the start of buds?"

Cues said "Yes, those things in the 'armpits' are the bud."

Another member said "I just see the start of new branches, i don't even see any preflowers"... <---------------This is the comment Cues is flaming about...

Make up your own minds, people...lol
 
OK, maybe I lost it a bit, but I don't like bad advice. It's not as if it was a 'little' bad. It was blatantly terribly bad, possibly losing ounces for readers on here. Sorry for losing the plot a little.

And cues, I agree with the guy you flamed. In my opinion, those are the start of new branches, I don't see any pistils. There are not 4 branches coming off that node, those "armpits" are formed by the stems on leaves, it's just starting to grow alternating nodes, since you can see the leaf stem placement beginning to become staggered. Mind you, it's those smaller branches that make up the main formation of buds, since the internodal growth on them is usually super tight. So I guess you're sort of right, but not by anything you can see in the picture.

IMO, Buds are conformed of mainly calyxs, which all contain a pistil each, which I see lacking in the original picture.

Whilst I very much appreciate everything I learnt from here, I have no problem whatsoever dropping it all. If you really expect me to agree with such a fundamentally flawed post without saying a word, so be it. It's really not something that will keep me awake at night! Hopefully everyone will enjoy their massive yields from the new 'double-branched' variety that has been discovered.

Where do you see 4 branches? I see 2 stems from the fan leaves, and the start of 2 branches at the node.
