ive read a few high times magazines and there is an add for bc northern lights grow cabs and lights and shit, but they also sell a food dryer for $500(600 with shipping) that drys your product and readys it for curing in 3-4 days. your product is dried perfectly, or from what bc northern lights said. and the dryer is not a food dehydrator. i dont know what the difference is but ive read that dehydrators give you a really harsh smoke. this machine does not and you can use it to dry fish, beef jerky, herbs, etc. anyway i havent talked to a single person who owns one or has had experience with one except what they told me when i called them. if anyone has used one i want to know how your product turned out and is it really worth $600. otherwise im ready to get one.

If you plan on making jerky, you COULD get that one...
But if you plan on drying bud, and want to spend much
less, go to ebay and pick up one of these herb dryers
for about $160...

Besides the noise of the fan, it is very efficient.
The carbon filter works perfect for masking odors.
Here is my last harvest...

beautiful. so how long did that take to dry in there? also, i tried looking up info on using an herb dryer and didnt find a damn thing except what was on ebay. it prevents mold and fungus im assuming. i still dont get why the other thing is six hundred and a simple herb dryer 170$ that is going to do the same thing?

Mr I Can Do That For Half
Or you could build that herb dryer for about $70 or less. The BC driers I have heard worked well but the grow boxes they make I have heard almost nothing but bad about as the claims bc makes are way over done. I had talked to 8 hydro shops who carried them and all talked me out of buying them saying they dont do even close to waht they claim and that for the price your better off getting a few 4 x 8 hydro tents.

you know what else works, hanging them in a closet and buying a small space heater, the higher the heat the quiker they dry and the nastier they taste,

you cant wait a week for them to dry? whats the rush? if you want some to smoke immidiatly hang it off you oven grate and put the temp on 170 F for 10 min and you will have a perfectly dried all be it harsh bud to smoke.

well i have 3 bubba kush and 3 snow cap veging under 400mh and my plants wont be done until christmas, thats if ilet them flower to the max, which i want to do. but they wont be done curing and drying until mid january. i want to be smoking this christmas and giving away pot laced christmas cookies and smoking hash oil and shit. so i figured i can pay some extra m0oney and buy a dryer so my mom doesnt get pissed about her house smelling like pot and i can have some perfectly dried buds ready for curing before christmas. but from what ive heard an herb dryer still makes your shit taste like chloraphyll and harsh. i only know what others have written and at this time i really cant make an informed decision. are herb dryers the way to go?

They work fine dude, don't listen to the hype.
I dried half of my Blueberry in the herb dryer, and
half in my grow closet...they both turned out fine.
Curing is what brings the taste out.

i read that heat is bad because it dries the outside faster than it dries the inside

This is based off of Mr. Al B. Fuct's plans for an air dryer. I could not get the muffin fans strong enough for me so I went to HomeDepot.
61 Dollars later.
Vairiable speed-50 cfm in 70 cfm out
Holds up to 16 oz dry ready to cure in 3-4 days
The fans are bathroom exhaust fans. I used the same tub as in the first attemp with muffin fans so the fabrication for the BIG fans was a bit tricky but it works great.
Frogive my trimming skills, still new at this.

You could make a simple drying box. Rubbermaid box, couple computer fans, couple cooling sheets that you put cookies on after baking and bam
