Basic setup, best lights?

I'm going to have 4 easy kush in a tent as of next week. Currently I have only one 125w CFL light for veg, and 600 HPS for growing.

Just wondering if anyone can give me any advice , should I get a different light? What is best for veg and flower?

Hey there,

I go with around 40 watts per square foot of canopy to determine the total amount of ideal wattage.

If you are tight on space then CFL might be the way to go (125W is definitely way too low though for 4 plants) - I was using both before and for me, it seems HPS works best. CFL bulbs needs to be kept very close to the canopy and needs adjustment every other day. HPS on the other hand can be (and should be) kept further away from the canopy and does not need adjustment that often. You could chuck in the CFL too during flowering.

I have now switched to 2 X 300W of Full Spectrum Led Bars for 2 plants, works nicely for me.

Buy a 600w metal halide conversion bulb, their the best for veg and will work on your hps ballast

You can veg with the hps... i did it for years, with no worries at all. Imo cfls are good for rooting clones and thats about it , they will give you very spindly and weak growth compared to hps or top end led.

How bigs the tent your using ?
Have you got intake and exhaust fans?
(Youll definitely need them for the hps)
And finally what medium and nutrients do you plan to use?

May just use the HPS and stick an LED light in aswell, I'm using 120x120x200cm tent, I do have all the other equipment
