Base of plants are pinching right above the rockwool cube

The upper foliage looks nice and green, very healthy. Roots also look pearly white and healthy. I'm thinking that it has to do with the EC I'm watering. This plant is 21 days old after getting cloned and 15 days after being transplanted into a 6-inch rock wool cube. I irrigate with 1 dripper to get roughly 10% runoff with proper dry down.
It doesn't seem to be hurting a healthy crop, but when I get a weak genetic, it turns into a rotting base that snaps easily. The upper foliage looks healthy. I am at a loss of why this could be happening, especially with the health of the plant being healthy.MicrosoftTeams-image copy.jpg

I need to know why though!!! It's so perplexing lol
There has to be a reason.
Damping off is a disease of seedlings caused by several different fungi and fungus-like organisms. This disease causes emerging seedlings to collapse, often submerged in a mass of white fungal growth. It is particularly a problem when sowing seed indoors or under glass.

Wow have you seen this happen with clones at all? That is all i work with, is clones no seedlings. Any practices to prevent this?

Clean your equipment with isopropyl alcohol before and after each cutting. Open the vents on your dome and don't let your cubes sit in a pool of water

Does this happen to all your clones? I mean across different cultivars? Maybe getting new clones or seeds.

Yeah we have HVAC issues with keeping Humidity for our clones so we have them domed for until we TP. Vents are open from day 1 after cutting them and we do burp the domes for about 30 mins a day, wiping them down with iso.

Yes it happens to all cultivars, anywhere from 1- 20 plants per 600-plant crop, I know that is a low percentage for it to be affected by, but its still something were trying to eliminate.

I wouldn’t give up on that as bad as it looks. I grow in soil.. so I’d add more soil to the pot to cover about 3-4” of that stem and pray roots emerge from the newly covered section before the rest is eaten away below.

So the success rate varies between 99.8% and 97%?
I'd call that a win and move on.

You may want to reconsider your aversion to H2o2; it's quite effective and economical. (I presume you meant hydrogen peroxide and not water)

But right not a bad success rate at all. But that is usually for a healthy genetic and healthy crop, when we get a hurting genetic, numbers to shoot up to 30. which sometimes is all of the extra we TP knowing that not all can be winners.
