Barry on its way...

So Barry will be here tomorrow if the weather reports are to be believed. Anyone on here have any idea what we should expect? They're saying 3 days of rain and hot humid air from the gulf of Mexico, but with the way storms tend to stall out over the Great Lakes, I'm a bit worried. My outdoor girl is just a few days into her stretch, but my flowering girl is just moving from her fifth to sixth week, and I'm probably going to have to keep her indoors under a couple of grow lights. Think I'll have any hermie problems? This'll be my first experience moving an outdoor plant indoors for anything other than a dark period for flowering.

when bringing a plant into a new light always acclimate it to the light type.
for instance put the light high up if its a HID or LED and only give it an hour at first then next day a few hours or so, and if theyre just flouros i'd start around a foot away then drop them a little each day closer to the plants

if you dont need to keep them inside for more than 3-4 days you really dont need to force alot of light on them, just control the light cycle as close as you can to mimicking your current light cycle outdoors , acclimate the light, and give them proper ventilation

Its great you can actually move them usually my outdoor stuff is way too big to shelter and gets murdered late season

My plant is in a fairly small pot. I know she's getting rootbound. I had intended to grow her indoors, but the temptation to put her out in the sun was just too much, especially with the other girl out there in the ground doing so well. I've been bringing her inside at night to flower, so keeping her light cycle the same won't be a problem. It's just the change from sun to LED with fluoro side lighting that has me worried. I can't acclimate her as former tropical storm Barry will be here tomorrow. My only other option is to put her outside as usual, then spray the shit out of her with potassium bicarbonate and hope it works as well against bud rot as the guy just north of me said it did for him last year. And that just doesn't sound smart, especially as her pot has already blown over once this season.

keep it inside for the storm of course, but as long as its acclimated to either light source you can do what you want the plant wont care much if you move it between light sources as long as it has been acclimated to be able be under that light for so long

good luck with the storm man there is no reason to leave them outside I think?
even if you kept it in a dark ventilated room for a few days I dont think it would stress it much.

but just start with flouros on and pin the LED high leave in on for an hour, off for an hour, drop it, repeat, then next day 2 hours, and so on until it can handle the LED at the regular distance its supposed to be hung for the full day cycle

just be sure to replicate the current light cycle for outdoors

A great trick for pots blowing over, get a little bigger of a pot than normal, and put rocks on the bottom before u fill it with soil
good luck man!

I'm in northern Michigan watching my plants dance outside on infrared camera in what they say are 40-50 mph winds. I'm expecting some splits come morning along with alot of retraining through the cages... F*^# Me... You should be safe though, this came from Canucklandia and Wisconsin, not from the south.

You're due west of Southern Ontario, it'll be crossing the border back into Canada today. Weather report still says 3 days of rain.

Good luck man hope you don't get it as bad as I did today.... Again. idk how but my girls survived a brutal storm today. Two 5 foot tall girls got toppled but they're not too wide so they bent with the cages and only one seems to have root damage at the soil line. Should find out the extent over the next week or so but damn these girls are tough.

We had a torrential downpour last night. Glad it was too dark to see what was happening. My Bakerstreet was all right when I got up though. My neighbour's sativa is looking a little worse for wear, but at least she finally got some water. Heat is finally broken somewhat, more rain today though.
