Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.

Thanks @Axion42 and @WillieP , I'm blown away how well it's working. Temps aren't even getting close to 70° with 24 hour lights on. I always struggled with temperature issues until I had a decent canopy cover.

I gave the larger of the two plants got a topping after taking these photos. My plan is to pull the smaller one over next week instead of topping. Hopefully topping will slow the larger of the two a big so I can get their sizes a little closer.

The chocolate mint og has been curing in the jars for two weeks now. The taste has gotten much better and the high is nice. Note quite as strong as the gorilla zkittlez but the buds certainly look a lot nicer than anything I've grown previously.

Thanks! I'll get some pics up tonight, they've really taking off over the past week. We're still hiding out hoping this nightmare will soon be over. I hope you and the family are staying safe and sane. Here's a few recipes for you. I prefer the chocolate cookies over chocolate chip, it does a better job of covering the weed taste. Let me know if you need a good cannabutter recipe.

Chocolate Chip

1/2 lb cannabutter
2 eggs (I use one whole egg and one egg white)
1/2 cup beet or white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 cups flower
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp kosher salt or 1/2 tsp regular salt
1 cup chocolate chips
2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. In another bowl butter, sugar and eggs. Slowly add dry ingredients until well mixed then add chocolate chips and vanilla. roll into 1 inch diameter balls on a baking sheet and bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes.

IMG_0768.jpeg

Chocolate Cookies (makes 30-40 cookies)

1/2 lb cannabutter
2 eggs (I use one whole egg and one egg white)
1 cup brown sugar
1 and 3/4 cups flower
1/3 cup dry cocoa
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp kosher salt or 1/2 tsp regular salt
1 pack hershey drops (optional)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. In another bowl butter, sugar and eggs. Slowly add dry ingredients until well mixed then add vanilla. roll into 1 inch diameter balls on a baking sheet, lightly press in hershey drop and bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes.

IMG_0253 (1).jpeg

Brownies

1/2 cup cannabutter
1 cup beet or white sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup dry cocoa
1/2 cup flower
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Oil your pan and lightly dust with flower. In a large pot melt butter, remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat in coacoa flower, salt and baking powder and spread into prepared pan. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes.

Brownie Frosting
3 tbsp cannabutter
3 tbsp dry cocoa
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 cup confectioners sugar

Mix all ingredients until smooth and frost brownies when cooled.

I can't begin to imagine how difficult and stressful it would be to still be working and interacting with the public. Those people are heros and I'm glad to do anything I can to help. This shit is so scary and I hope we see an end soon, I don't know how much longer we can hold out with no income or end in sight.

I decarboxylate my weed before making butter. I've tried it both ways and IMO you're missing out on so much if you skip this step. I use a Ardent Nova Decarboxlator, the oven works just as well but will make your house reek of weed. Here's instructions from growweedeasy. https://www.growweedeasy.com/how-to-decarb-weed

You may want to play around with potency to see what works best for you. I use one ounce flower or two ounces of trim for one pound of butter, for me a half cookie is a good time, a whole cookie is bedtime. A couple weeks ago I was stressed and having a hard time sleeping. I ate an entire brownie and was out of it for ten hours and woke up still high af!

Medium sauce pan
1 pound butter (I use unsalted but either will work)
Decarboxlated weed
2 cups water

Bring water to a boil add butter and reduce to low heat, you want a light simmer, not boiling. Mix in flower or trim and simmer for three hours. Give it a light stir every 15 minutes or so. Keep an eye on your water level and add a little more hot water as necessary so the plant material isn't touching the bottom of the pot. After three hours strain through a cheese cloth (make sure you squeeze out all the goodness) and place in the fridge overnight. The next day your butter will be congealed and floating on the water, remove the butter and dump the water. There will be a bit of gunge on the bottom of the butter that you should scrape off then you're ready to start baking. I've been told by a few people that you can repeat the simmering process a couple times to further remove the weed taste. I haven't tried that yet so I can't vouch for it. 1 pound of butter should make 80-100 kick ass cookies depending on how large you make them.

IMG_0457 (1).jpeg

I forgot to give you one more recipe for gingerbread cookies. Personally I don't like ginger, but others told me it was great for covering the weed taste.

1/2 pound cannabutter
1.5 cups beet or white sugar
1 egg
2 cups flower
1/3 cup molasses
3 tbsp ginger
1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
.5 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp kosher salt or 1/2 tsp regular salt
2 tsp baking soda

Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl. Combine butter, sugar, eggs and molasses, then slowly mix in your dry ingredients. Roll into 1 inch diameter balls onto a baking sheet and bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes. Once they start cracking on the surface they're done. You don't want to overcook these or they become hard as a rock!

Thank you. I have to be honest, I got these recipes from my mother. She's got quite the sweettooth and loves baking.

Here's an updated pic of the pink kush. They're about five days apart so I think it's going to be challenging to get my screen properly filled out. I'm planning on giving them another week or so before I put the net down. I've got a new design I've been working on for my scrog net. The last one made didn't work so well in late flower and the clips started popping off.

They looks so pretty! I love the new silver insulation. The green reflection of the leaves onto the silver surface is so cool.
I am looking forward to seeing your new scrog screen. Thanks again for all your help.:weed:

did you end up making some cookies? I'd love to know how you made out.

I completed my new scrog net. It took forever to print the 52 pieces, but it's strong as hell! I'm confident I won't be having any problems like I did last time! I dropped it down yesterday and gave it a pruning and reservoir change. It's now at 850 PPM and seems to be really happy. I'm loving these new buckets. So far I haven't had to do much of anything as far as touching ph or adding water. Every time I check the temperature it's holding tight at 67°.

I love your set up!
I have to get one just like you!
No I haven’t made the cookies yet because I don’t have any of the ingredients and it’s too stressful going to the grocery store . I am going to wait until it’s safer and I can cope a bit better. These times we are in are becoming more and more depressing.
do
You use a drip ring in your buckets?

I wouldn't know a thing about 3D printing. They do look really cool though, and I agree that this set will function much better IMO.

Happy 420 to you too. We rolled up a big fat joint with a little bit of everything I've grown over the past 18 months to celebrate.... then I passed out lol.

I don't blame you, I hate having to get geared up to go to the grocery store or anywhere there's a lot of people too. I hope we see an end to this sooner rather than later. I saw your post about possibly moving soon :( I hope we get to see the completion of your blue dream grow.

Hang in there, it's going to get better eventually. Hope you and your family in NJ are staying safe.

lol, reminds me of the story of how the NASA spent millions of dollars developing a pen that could write in zero gravity while the Russians solved the problem by simply using a pencil.

When I expand my grow this summer I'm going to be using a fixed net similar to your picture, I'm thinking of using eyelet screws and just looping it through.

I never actually answered your question. I'm using a 5"airstone and 14 watt pump for each bucket. No drip rings or anything like that.

Quick update, I was planning on starting flower this weekend, but I've decided to let it go another week. The screen is not quite as full as I was hoping. I'm getting lots of nice white roots going.

I love this. I am using a 52L tote currently in a 3x3. I had added the reflective file to the top of the tote, but after seeing your temps I'm going to do the entire thing.

I was fight water temps during seedling and early veg. They are OK now, just flipped to flower two days ago.

Your setup is wonderful!

I was in the same position, struggling with high temps during initial veg. In previous grows I aimed to keep my room temperature at 72° with the 5 gallon buckets, since switching I've been letting the temps get as high as 76° and my reservoir is staying below 70°. My buckets are sitting on a concrete floor in my basement so that probably helps a lot too.

Same, basement floor. I had big issues with circulation early in the current for which led to a slew of confusing symptoms, but I figured it out now. Temps are good, but plants are now helping a lot too:

Nice and clean looking setup! Is that a Secret Jardin tent? It looks exactly the same as my first tent. You'll notice a big difference when you cover the entire bucket.

Yes! It's a DR90. I do like it, although, I have small tear at the top that I will need to fix. I have had it 4 years now, very happy with it.
