Barneys Farm LSD + Tangerine Dream -- 200+ Watt CFL Grow Cab

Just getting ready to start my first grow. Ive done quite a bit of research and i think that im ready to give it a shot. I have 2 feminized seeds coming from attitude seed bank. Does anybody have experice with them, their website seemed good but just wanted to make sure.
I guess ill tell you about the set up

Seeds:
I guess it already said in the title but I have ordered 1 Barneys farm LSD feminized and 1 Barneys farm Tangerine Dream feminized.

Cab:
The cabs dimentions are 21"long x 14"deep x 36"tall and it will be made of 3/4" plywood

Lights:
For lighting I think that I am going to used 2 powerbar CFL fixtures, exactly as shown on the link. (thanks Shackleford.R )

Do you guys think this will be enough light if CFL's stay 3-4" from the fixture?

Ventalation:
I have been wrestling with ideas on ventalation for quite a while. I bought 2 120mm pc fans and have them wired up. I am going to try run them through those carbon filter sheets, something like the link. I wanted to make a small filter out of net pots but the cab doesnt have the space. I am hoping that these sheets will work for veg and in flower I will have a couple ONA's on the closet. Some smell isnt a big deal but I dont want the whole house to be floral
Does anyone have any experience with pc fans and carbon filters, id love some advice. The box will have 2 holes in the bottom as passive intake.

Soil/Nutes:
As of now I am going to look for some soil at rona or some hardware store. Any suggestions on a good soil that would be at these stores?
For nutes I am just going to go to my local hydro shop and see what organic nutes they recomend or that arent too expensive

Heres a shitty paint drawing of the basic set up but the ventalation is up in the air still, might have both pulling out might have one pulling while the other just circulates the air in the box. Id love some help haha. I plan to have this up and running by early next week some time and hopefully the seeds will arrive by then too.

Thanks, once i have the cab up and running and if heat isnt too much of an issue i'll definatly look into adding more light.

Thanks Kottonmouth, I think 30 is a good guess too but im still aiming for 50+


lll have an update on the box today with some pics of the 2 pc fans I just wired, and the corner of the closet I will be growing in.

Yea.. heat can be a bitch with a cab.. just run your exhaust out the top or as close to it as you can and get some air flowin.. you should be straight

I was thinking of running them through the top aswell or on the side right at the top. It all depends on how much air those PC fans can move through the filter. I am also looking into pushing the air through the wall and hopefully up into the attic but ill have to see if thats even possible

Anybody have experience with using those carbon sheets and PC fans? are there any other options for heat control? I guess this is all just speculation untill the box is built and I let it run for a bit , but i might aswell be as prepared as possible

I was reading somewhere that those work pretty good.. and for the price you can't beat them. I just don't think they last.. maybe someone else can chim in and give you some more insite man.

By this friday ill have the shell of the box and by monday or tuesday ill hopefully have everything

cant wait for the seeds to get there and sprout. I'll be growing tang. dream soon as well.poly the beginning of the new year

Not yet the box is being built by a friend, so by the week end it should be built with fans and lights and i can test it. All that will be missing is the nutes, pots, soil, reflective material, actually does anyone know a good reflective material thats not mylar, i was thinking like those car window ones, and lastly it will be missing the girls

Everything sounds good. I hope your friend knows what hes doing. Building Custom Grow Boxes can be a pain in the ass. Like mane said. Check temps before you put plants in there cause it will get too hot if u dont have at least 1 exhaust fan. I went threw that problem when I first built mine. Temps would get to 100+ degrees with just 4 cfls in it with no exhaust fan. The exhaust fan will be your biggest concern with a custom indoor grow box. I would suggest buying a small weather station to put into your box so you can record temp. and humidty. I bought one at lowes for 10 dollars and was the best investment in my whole box. Also for a good reflective material, if you have a chance look at a home depot, lowes or whatever you have in your area and go to the insulation section. Theres this reflective and somewhat insulated material that looks kinda like bubble wrap but it much thinner and very very reflective. Not sure of the name but I know you can find it at almost an store that sells insulation..Kinda hard to miss because it doesn't look like any other insulation. Only costs me 15 dollars for a roll of it that was 20 inches wide by 25 feet long. Post some pictures once you get your box from your friend. I like seeing how other people set things up. Thanks for the great info man, as for ventilation i am checking if i can vent into the wall and from there into the attic, that is best case scenario. Otherwise ill have to just vent my warm air back into the closet and hopefully if i have it cracked it will be cool enough. Well I think the box will be built early next week, didn't want to make my friend build it on the weekend of Christmas so early next week it is. Ill go pickup that reflective insulation and most of the other supplies on Monday and testing can begin. thanks for your input and for being so patient the grow will be starting soon

Are you screening by chance? Just that tangerine dream tops out at bout a metre. Otherwise you might outgrow your box, I've done it before happens to the best of us.

Hey weedconnoisseur! I plan on doing a Scrog to control the height of both plants so hopefully that won't be too much of an issue. Any tips on scroging?

Smart man. Personally when I scrog I grow the plants horizontal the whole time. If you're only growing a few at a time a recommend this. I've seen alot of other scrog I prefer this method. With growing horizontal it allows the whole of the plant to get light vs the light just getting the top. Every bud will be great bud if done properly. I've only done a few grows so I'm not an expert yet, but hope this helps.
