Barney's Farm Critical Kush?

While I'm asking about this strain specifically I'm also asking generally for your thoughts on the way the marketing, hype, and in turn end product interelate.

How do you guys feel about this strain? It's listed as the most popular strain on the breeder's website and also from attitude seed bank and both companies are about just as reputable as anyone else but 750g per m^2? Even at one gpw that's still like 83 watts per square foot on a mostly indica strain, really? From what I have read on your journals it doesn't perform nearly as well as the breeder's website claims and I'm not sure about the smoke either from reading your guys posts. Yet some of you do some pretty good stuff and all the "experts" ed, jorge, greg, etc. all seem to say that with the right conditions you can do some more impressive things as far as yield and efficiency and quality but it seems that the general consensus is that 90% of what you get is determined by genetics. So is this strain or any strain really any good or is it all just luck from seed hoping to get that lucky pheno regardless really of which decent breeder or strain you choose?

I had a very sad experience with Barneys Farms Vanilla Kush. I wouldn't give them another dime after such a sorry excuse of a product released.

Just my limited experience.

I have grown BF LSD and it was average at best. I don't have any comment on the Critical Kush as I have not run it, but I think that you would be wise to look at other breeders who release strains with vigor and general all round focus on quality. Again, this was my experience with BF and I would never really trust the breeder comments on yield (g), as there are so many variable to each persons grow.

Nice job, not saying one can't find gems, I was only sharing my experience left so much more to be desired. So much so I simply won't bother is all. I feel the same way about thseeds despite mk ultra easily being one of the best smokes I've ever had.

No I understand. I have heard similar with Vanilla Kush/tangerine dream/grinspoon/others I found the CK phenos very uniform with the few seeds I got, they were all near identical.

Always good to share the good with the bad. Just sad that vanilla kush was such a disappointment, left a sour taste in my mouth concerning the brand.

Hi TonightYou,

I've grown Critical Kush from Barney's in soil / organics, i let you some pics of a plant grown in a 1 gallon pot.
I guess in "over optimized" growing system as hydro/aeroponics, with something as 800 watts /m2 you could get a high yield but 750gr is a lot

Nice sweet / berry taste, a lot of resin, definitively a good strain to grow but, maybe don't expect so crazy yields ;)

Edit: you can grow around 16 or more plants like this in 1m2, but even if I didn't watch weight I guess yield was around 30 - 40 gr, no more (but organics growing usually give an inferior yield so expect more with hydroponics and a strong nutrients line ;))

Nice plant but I don't see 750 grams there. I'd guess 75 grams. Unless of course you are doubting the previous poster because I don't see that number either.
