I had a good experience with Barney's Critical Kush and LSD. The CK lived up to the rep for being a heavy producer, I remember a couple of forearm sized colas and more than a couple of snapped branches. And the LSD was impressive too, one of the more potent strains I'd grown up to that point, although it's been several years since and I've grown a few that maybe surpass it, but it had a stone that seemed to just last forever, lol.
I finally got to try the LSD at their coffeeshop. That shit was great. reminded me of my circa 88 sk#1 from sensi. very trippy and made minutes seem like hours. I'd really like to try some but I'm not big on fems and keep hearing horror stories about herms from barnies. I may break down and try a pack. They recently started selling some regular seeds again fyi. I may give some of these a try.

I'm growing Barneys OG BLUE and I've got it in a scrog. I fimed twice. I've been dealing with deficiencies the whole grow mainly calmag I think. I just can't seem to get her really happy but she is still doing her thing. I use advanced nutrients in dwc with distilled water and sometimes I use my tap water if I don't have any distilled left. I let it air out three days before use. It sits at about 40ppm and 7.5ph which I have to adjust. I always add in the calmag too. I'm using 16ml for the 3 gallon res. I'm also using led lights.
I know every strain is different but
Right next to it in another tent I have pineapple chunk and it's growing perfectly. They are both in week 5 of flowering and treated the same.

The OG blue smells really good though I've grown OG kush and it smells just like it with a hint of berry.

Is that your tap water you're saying is 40 ppm and 7.5ph? If it is, I'd say just use that. 40ppm is nothing. Back in the day I was using tap water that was 300-400 ppm at times. Not ideal, but I was getting 2.25- 2.75lbs per 1000 watts. I'd always draw it into a 55 gallon drum and run a bubble stone in it for a couple of days. A little naturally occurring salt, calcium, iron ect is really good for them. When I started using RO I couldn't run it straight. I always had to cut it with a bit of tap water. That's just me though.

Hey thanks for the reply. Yep tap is 40ppm and pH 7.5. You are totally right though I should stop using distilled. Problem is i use the gallon jugs to refill with tap water. I have nothing else to store the water in so I need the jugs. I dont have a drum to fill? I'm pretty stocked up now on tap water though like 20 gallons full haha just after a while they get battered so I have to replace them. I like having the distilled around in case I need to lower ppm. So how does my plant look to you? This is my first time Scrogg not my first grow though.

Man it looks ok. Get you some kind of large container though. My guru always told me never to let water stagnate. He said always keep a bubbler running in the holding tank and the basins we used for nutrient solution, and I always have. The couple of times that I didn't it seemed like the plants disliked it. Man if your tap water is 40ppm just use that to lower your ppm. Compared to most tap water that's around that's exceptional. I had one place that had 600ppm water that smelled like rotten fish. It had so much lime in it that when I'd run it through an RO it would come out clean but at a very low ph...I ended up trucking water every day from my other house. How big is your nutrient reservoir and how much water do you use per day? looks like a small closet grow like 4x4 so unless you have high temps/low humidity you can't be using a whole lot of water.

I'm in a 3x3 tent setup in the basement . I have a 5 gallon storage bin it was a diy project. It really can only hold about 4 gallons max. I have to add water about every 3 days or so depending if I need the dehumidifier on. Honestly I'm really not happy with this resivor the stem fell inside the bucket. Next run I'm using 5 gallon pales. So what would you recommend for storing my water with a bubbler you might of hit my problem right on the head maybe a 5gal with a lid and cut a hole for a bubbler it's just everythingis in the basement. I do have a bubbler running inside my res though. Also I can show you my pineapple chunk of you want to see it. And rotten fish tap water gross! Lol

Man you could just get a couple of 5 gallon buckets and one of those air pumps that have 4 outlets. Run one to each 5 gallon holding bucket and a couple could go to to your nutrient reservoir. I always liked the plastic bubbler stones since the stone ones can degrade over time. If you have it in the basement why are you using a tent? If I wasn't worried about anyone seeing it I'd just have them in the open for better air circulation. (disclaimer here) I've only ever run dwc for my mother plants and vegetables. I was a cash cropper and ran ebb and flow with rockwool for my sog cash crop. A bunch of the shit I did goes against what any hydro book would tell you but it worked for me. ok so having said that.....how many plants are you running and how is your ph fluctuating in-between water refills/ how often do you check the ph? Also what size light/type of light, and what are your temp/humidity running during your light and dark cycles? I'm just trying to knock out some variables.oh yeah and hydrocorn/rockwool or other?

So first off great suggestion I'm going to go get some plastic air stones I have had stone ones fall apart on me. I can't have it open because smell would be a issue. My girlfriend hates the smell plus I'm trying to keep it on the dl even though it's legal and all.

My plants are in rapid rooters in 2inch net pots with some hydroton clay pebbles. My temps have been a bit low due to it being winter I run a heater when lights are out so temps are around 64 degrees with 35rh and lights on its about 77 degrees. And between 30 and 38 rh when lights are on. For lights I have two Mars hydro 600watt lights but my true watts are 530. As for pH I check it everyday but I'm using the entire advanced nutrients line up wit the 3 part pH perfect base so pH starts around 5.8 and I just checked and she is at 6.8 which is too high it usually goes up to 6.5 though before I flush which I do once a week it's only one plant also. Think I covered everything you asked haha

Awesome man. Yeah honestly I never had to deal with humidity that fucking low. JESUS! I'm guessing you're in Colorado. So it kind of sounds like your plants are transpiring too much water to keep up with the low humidity which is draining your reservoir a bit faster than it should and raising your ph. A larger nutrient reservoir would probably help with the ph fluctuation and help with your nutrient deficiencies. Different nutrients are absorbed at different ph ranges and 6.8 is way high. Fluctuation isn't a bad thing since it will give you different nutrient absorption at different ph's but that much range is a little much. I'd probably try to go with 5.8-6.2 range. A propane heater could help with the temp and a humidifier would help with the humidity. Sounds like you're in a tricky situation since you have to worry about the smell and all. Honestly I'd probably switch to soil....I know you don't want to hear that. For my personal stash I always kept a small area with plants in soil and cash cropped with hydro. That's about all I know to tell you man. I hope it helped. And I'd love to see more pics btw lol.

I gave a buddy my freebie Blue Og by G13labs and she had the same issue.

She stayed spotty and we tried more cal/mag and such but she never responded to treatment. We didn't keep clones going after 3 yield.

Thanks man you actually did help a lot. Made me realize I need to store my water better. Yeah ph is a headache I should of done this grow in 5gal pales so my next one will have that. Aso for dirt yikes haha I would go soil if I didn't get bugs in it everytime. I heard about some stuff called promix but I've yet to go back down that road lol. Here's some pics I cleaned her up airflow was a but low do I took off some nasty leaves.

Man bugs are weird. I never had a problem with soil but when I had hydro I was constantly fighting critters. For most people it's the other way around. I once had a bad case of spider mites though and in my garage electrical box I found about 2 pounds of lady bugs. I released them in my grow room and they ate every one of the little fuckers. I'd sit there with a jewelers loop watching carnage.

Haha funny that you say that. I run ladybugs in veg usually release like 8 or more in each tent as a precaution. At the beginning of this grow a spider mite was crawling outside my tent door. It freaked me out. I squished it and thank god they didn't get in though, I guess because unfortunately the ladybugs died off. So thankfully they didn't infest. Once the ladybugs were eaten by spiders too. Pretty rough fate. I'm always checking for critters. I had ffof soil and had fungus gnats. Same with this gold soil from cali forget the name of it but that had gnats pop up the day of transplant. I just have no luck with soil. I believe the ladybugs did kill off gnats in an earlier grow though that was in a different location. I probably should put them in a soil grow then I'm sure it might work maybe. Also do you wash your buds after that battle of bugs? Lol also I'm in one of the newer legal states more east.

Bro keep doing what you do. If it works that's all that matters. Some people turn up their noses at hydro but once you get it down it can be pretty amazing.

Hey so I got three 5gal food grade buckets with the air pumps going with 4 gallons of water in each. My question is can I leave it sealed with the cover on or should I create a hole for it to vent out? I don't have a pump with more then two air outputs so that's coming in the mail I'm forced to use two pumps right now doh!

I'm also growing out the new strain BARNEYS BLUEBERRY OG

I sprouted 5 seeds and chose the best looking 2 14days after they sprouted.

I transplanted both seedlings into a OXYPOT XL with a diy top drip for the first few weeks till some roots start showing out the bottoms of the net pots20180308_061737.jpg

Both plants started showing roots through the the bottom of the net pots after 14 days ish in the dwc system20180324_105511.jpg 20180317_173814.jpg

I veged the girls for a total of 50days from the moment they sprouted20180411_111741.jpg 20180415_134208.jpg

The start of flowering
20180505_181321.jpg 20180525_070006.jpg20180530_070221.jpg 20180609_124653.jpg

I'm currently on day 41 flower 48 days from the flip to 12/12.

This was my first DWC grow after a few years in soil and then coco/perlite mixes, I must say so far it's been a problem free grow apart from a little root issues in the beginning of veg.

I started out with a h202 product called silver bullet roots but I couldn't get it to work for me? I switched over to beneficials with PLANT SUCCESS ORCA & GREAT WHITE , once I started dosing the res with bennies everything just glided to the 7th week of flower.

The buds loom almost done to be honest but I'm still waiting on the trichomes to turn to my liking of 40%AMBER
At the moment were at 80%MILKEY 15%CLEAR 5%AMBER

I think maybe 10days and done but who knows right?

Ppm got up to 1000 around week 5 but gradually the plants stopped eating little by little the past 14 days , there down to 500 eating 30ppm per day and drinking between 4-7 litres of solution per 24 hours.

Ph has been consistent all through the grow rising by 0.1 / 0.2 per 24 hours from 5.7 to 6.2 over 3 day period.

I have 2 phenos ' the first is squat with tight branching and small hybrid leaves
She has small orange buds that have a deep fuel & old skool kush smell.

The second girl is a keeper indeed, she is everything I expected as far as PLANT growth goes' she is tall with huge indica leaves that are lighter green than her counterpart , she has big strong side branches with node spacing that is similar to the other but a much bigger version. The smell is fresh citrus with almost a lemon sent.
She looks very much like the prized pheno that BARNEYS advertised so I hope I'm not wrong.

I will keep you guys posted on a harvest & smoke report very soon so take care for now 1& all
