brannddon, no, males will just produce sacs of pollen. lots and lots of it. Hermis are annoying. you can try to pick off the "balls", but at some point your gonna have trouble with that without also disturbing your buds.

Appears to be a lady hard to tell with that pic. Get a good side pic. Oh and get those roots covered up with more soil and your soil looks really wet so I hope you had just watered and it not like that all the time, root rot is bad.

I second that, don't be afraid to bury part of stem base too. Hard to say from the pic, something from the side or if there's anything going on on the lower branches might be better to see. Also, some of your bigger fan leaves look like they are cupping (curling under).

Do you have a light down below? Or is your plant getting real light at the bottom?
What's your temps at canopy level?

The base of the stalk WAS covered, but it just randomly did that shit and it's weird..

Lost a couple of light bulbs and haven't had time to buy any, and I think I stressed it during light changes.

Went from 24/0, to 18/6 (did this twice to adjust the hours) and I've had 2 light bulbs break, meaning at two different times it lost steady light.

So no, I don't have lights at the bottom anymore and it's a pretty tall plant.. but plenty of sacks on it so it's probably male. Gonna keep an eye on it for the next few days.

Edit: the temperature was fine until I had to do a lot of readjusting and moving, that's when I noticed the curls... yes due to heat, so I probably stressed it in more than one way to cause it to herm/male. But I did notice trichomes on the budspots.. so maybe I can salvage them for hash?

The top roots tend to get exposed over time as the soil compacts from watering. Just add some more soil to the top and your good to go. Don't blame yourself for it being a hermi, sometimes it just happens. You can still keep it, and you will get bud off it, but it won't be as much yield as you get from a true female and obviously it will be seedy because it's being pollenated. You only have one plant so a hermi is less of a problem than if you had other female plants. I've had all these things happen and more. It's all part of the learning process. Your doing good for your first go, so don't get yourself down.
