Its been a while,so I decided to start a new grow. This plant was living in tissue for a week under 13w CFL but began to die, I transplanted a week ago and it's doing great now. It was 2 sprouts but 1 didn't make it during transport(broken stem). Any way I'm vegging for 1 month 18/6 ,then month 2 16/8 ,then finally 12/12 Under HPS. I hope it's not a male but if it is I will just buy seeds and start over. I'm more patient then I used to be. I don't look at it every hour like in the noob days lol.

You don't need to veg that long. It looks fine. And you don't need to step down the lighting like that over such a drawn out period of time. Switch from 18/6 or any other light timing straight to 12/12. You'll be fine.

Looking good.

You don't have to slowly change your lighting into 12/12. Going straight from 18/6 to 12/12 is just fine and won't stress your plant.

Go ahead and look into both topping and LST to get the most out of your plant! Happy growing!

Yeah I know but it's only 1 plant, I'm trying to maximize yield and and conserve a bit of energy but it's growing extremely fast.

Its been 2 weeks today and i accidentally cut my plant stem, but after i noticed it have hundreds or maybe even thousands of springtails , i know they not bad cause they only was eating decay in the soil. I think I'm gonna scrap this project and just start over(not like i have choice) cause i'm not spending time trying to get roots back and it might end up a male. But today is going bad for me in general. I'm gonna order some beans next friday when i get paid. Are these ads on RIU legit?

If you are going to order some seeds just go with Herbies or The Single Seed Center. They are legit and if you don't receive your seeds they will reimburse you or resend. I have like my own seed bank now haha. I order seeds like every check or as often as possible. Never know the apocalypse could happen and i'll have the best buds around.

I decided to let this plant try to reroot in a water bottle and its slowly but surely getting there and still growing new growth vigorously, i cut the 2-3 lower nodes and i topped it before i made the mistake of cutting the stem. The reason i decided to continue it is because i noticed the leaves have HUGE trichomes on it, very visible to the naked eye,so i think it might be a she. And even if it turns out to be a male which i doubt, he would be a great suiter for breeding. I even let the leaves i cut off dry and i smoked it and i have to say without a doubt i was high and not lethargic like the first fan leaves i smoked so many years ago. I don't know if i got one of the best pheno of this unknown strain but its surely a keeper and i will keep this updated weekly.

Water bottle filled with tap water that has been out for about a week, I keep atleast 10 of these on hand for watering.hole cut in cap, been 3 days and starting to show small roots.

She's a beautiful looking lady right there! Hope all works out man, good luck! Keep us posted! Also, even if she turns out to be a he, don't rule out continuing the grow, you can use a male to collect pollen for future breeding and then turn the rest of the plant into a couple of grams of decent hash!

Tape up where it's clear around the soil. The roots are sensitive to light? I believe?
Light won't hurt the roots dude, but it will allow algea to grow, which will in turn use up all the oxygen and nutrients, and that will mess them up, but this only applies to a hydroponic grow, I don't imagine a week or so in a water bottle will have too much of an adverse effect on them providing she's planted as soon as she's ready for repotting, but just to be on the safe side, it may be a good idea to make an outer casing to stand the water bottle in, then it can be taken out from time to time to monitor root growth, just a thought.

Right, that. Was unclear regarding the reason behind it. Apologies, then.
Light doesn't damage the roots, it promotes algae growth, algae uses up oxygen and nutes in the water, there for the plant gets less, which damages them, Unless it's a hydro grow there shouldn't be any nutes in the water to start with, and a week or 2 in a bottle exposed to light won't hurt them. It still may be a good idea to keep them in the dark to be on the safe side as there are no guarantees, but keep them in an outer container around the bottle and block light getting to them using that method, rather than tape, that way the bottle can be removed to monitor root growth and see when she's ready to be repotted, it would be much easier than removing tape or just guessing.

Wouldn't a clear container with adequate moisture and nutrients from the soil or teas cause fungi to grow just the same? Not trying to hijack.

Thanks for the replies, i plan on potting her in a day or two. This plant will be cloned alot cause it's still in early veg and already smells kinda dank. I'll be making some soil runs soon to start the process. Btw i squeeze the bottle a few times a day to keep the stem wet and add a little oxygen to the bottle.

It can do given the right conditions but it's usually Myocilin that grows or similar varieties of fungus, but they tend to grow in damp and dark conditions so once they're on a proper light cycle it prevents the growth of fungus, plus, believe it or not, these fungi are actually beneficial to plant growth too, here, check this article out http://www.bbc.com/earth/story/20141111-plants-have-a-hidden-internet

Straight after germination, once I potted my seeds, I have a few little fungi pop up here and there but I keep them in low light until the first leafs sprout, then when I transferred them to my grow box all the Myocilin died out.

No worries buddy, how are the roots looking so far? It seems to be a common thing for Kush strains to smell during veg, can't say I've ever experienced it before, but I've never grown Kush either, I do have a Lemon Haze in her like 7th or so week and she has a nice faint smell from time to time xD I'm not sure you're helping much by keeping the stem moist in all honesty, but it also won't do any damage either so it can't hurt, have you been misting the leafs during this process? As a plant has no roots (EG: with cloning) there's no other way for the plant to take in water so the leafs should be sprayed with plain, in-nuted water a few times a day until the plant is repotted (That's with clones, I imagine same rule applies here but it luckily worked out in your favor this time round, assuming you didn't mist them?)

I misted it maybe once but as far as I can tell it's still growing, I just wouldn't introduce any intense lights to it right now, I did see some very small roots and decided to plant in a small container for a week or two or until I feel comfortable enough to replant in the 9 gallon bucket. Compared to other cloning methods I used; plain water seems like it's healthier for the plant.
