Wow, hopes mine are like that,, im 5 weeks in and mine are almost a foot and 8 in,, so I would say your not to far behind, but I believe mine grew very slow until week 4 and then they shot up,,
Get light on them. A lot of light. Get air moving and have good soil with good drainage.

Think of it this way, if there are seeds in your bag, that means they werent intentionally made. This means that they are most likely harvested before mature. The germination rate won't be 90%+ like seeds from a seedbank, but you should still be able to get a few to pop.

But there is an aside to this.Firstly the reason that there is a seed in your weed might be that it came from a hermaphrodite plant. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing ,but your seed might then go on to be a herm aswell.
Most bag seeds comes as a result of stressing a female plant into producing male flowers. The resulting seeds are feminized. They will be a susceptible to hermaphroditism as the parents. That means if one of the parents was given too much fertilizer and produced male flowers as a result, the offspring will probably do that too.

Some people don't mind this though and if you dont mind seeds in your weed you will have an endless supply of that strain..It could have just came from reg male and female plants to though ,so you might end up with a straight up male..

I just think most bag seed is the result of stress in illegal grows. It is the most plausible, logical explanation.

If the seed is a nice and fat and a good brown colour and doesnt crush in your fingers if you squeeze it it should be viable.

I understand partly why you might say this, but I'm not sure the percentage is as high as you think. My grow is totally legal and I've gotten some nice seeds from Hermaphrodites, which I grew in my next 2 grows. This is where I might bend in your direction, though: as I become more experienced, I will find the blessing of NOT growing Hermahprodites, wanting the ease of no balls or nanners.

I'm already beginning to change my growing preferences, as a good friend of mine, who is a breeder, gave me some seeds last summer that were non-herm females. I grew 1 of those this last Fall, and she was fricken awesome! No nanners, no balls, and fucking dank bud! Well, he just told me that he has some other seeds for me to try if I want, so I will probably give in and keep my Herm seeds for later on.

I grew out 2 bag seed... this was out of 10 to 20 seed trying to germinate. Out of a lot of beans (mind you that they were 3+ years old) only 3 germinated and 1 died as a seedling. The two remaining plants vegged quite nicely and grew big. One of the plants expressed pre flowers prior to 12/12 switch and the other took about 5 to 6 days to show pre flowers. The one that threw pre flowers in veg stayed a female until late stage, as I was picking off yellow naners from the bud. The other girl threw ball clusters shortly after pre flowers were shown. I would have to say that the early stage hermie was definitely directly related to stress and carried more of the expressed gene responsible for hermidom. I had deficiencies with the late stage hermie that could have caused the naners to pop up... but not sure. Like a lot of people have mentioned, the smoke was a lot better than what bag it came from.
