cure them in airtight containers, like mason jars for two to four weeks and the taste and smell will improve.

Like others have said, it's normal for it to have a grassy, organic smell before curing. Once the process of photosynthesis halts, the production of sugars and starches stops and the buds will start to smell like.....well buds again. If the buds are mostly dry now, I would put the buds into brown paper bags for a few days. This lets the moisture escape from the middle of the bud and be absorbed evenly into the drier outer parts. This step also stops the production of sugars and starches. Be sure to check them daily to be sure they are not getting too moist. After that step, as long as your buds are not to moist, put them into canning jars being sure to open once daily for 15-30 minutes to allow air exchange.

Like everyone have seen, it will smell grassy, then sometimes they start to smell bad. Cure it for a bit and it will be all good.
