Bad odour from the exhaust

I'm using carbon filtering just as you people, but right now I can still smell some less then ideal odour coming from the exhaust. It isn't the smell of marijuana though, it's clearly different. Does this mean my carbon filter should be changed for a new one?

they aren't as efficient when the humidity is elevated. Try using a good sized scrubbing carbon filter in your flowering room in addition to a new exhaust one.

as long as the smell is not MJ...what's the problem?....other than maybe the fan motor is burning up

Some handy DIY carbon filters you could tinker with and make; add that maybe. I saw it earlier today in I believe the grow setup forum. Got the air activated carbon from a pet store, the rest at home depot / bunnings etc. Again I speak noob, so by all means ask others before you listen and or do anything I post. I'm smart as hell looking, until I open my mouth. :hump:

It isn't marijuana, I can give you that. More like rotten foot or something. I've been using the filter for like 15 months by now.
Smell still does attract attention and can be a give-away.

You have prob, had high humidity,at some point and the humidity might have dropped, this can cause a smell.Has it starts to re dry out.

I buy a new filter once a year for the reason of once the charcoal gets moisture in it gaps can get larger between the charcoal and this can result in the smell of the grow getting out.
