What is tin foil about MAIN STREAM NEWS SOURCES, GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS, and ect? Did you even watch the video? It is in simple terms for the mercury/floride heads.

The whole politics section has turned into a tin foil hat forum. It's ridiculous. The whole damn forum is dominated by Alex Jones and Glenn Beck youtube videos. No discussion, no discourse - merely youtube videos. I hate it.
At least cite what the video says and begin a discussion on the content and legitimacy. And worse, when someone disagrees with the content of a youtube video and vocalizes their opinion, unless they back up their opine with another fuckin' youtube video, they're castigated for a lack of 'proof'.
I'm hoping it's just a trend. Maybe these youtube Alex Jones people will go away and give us back our site, which is used for DISCUSSION on political trends and topics.

Even if the whole illuminati thing were real, wth is posting youtube videos in the politics section on a grower's forum going to do. If it were real, then theres obviously nothing you can do about it, so why don't you guys just drop it, so we can get back to debating issues and politcial ideologies, instead of whether or not alex jones is part of a conspiracy or FEMA death camps, or whatever new garbage theory is out there.

Not really... Look at all the innocent people in jail. Without the military there would be over 1 million iraqis still alive, and all the soldiers would still be at home with their familys. As for police if everyone was armed you really wouldn't have a crime problem. Like they say, "An armed society is a polite society."

IMO, government is absolutely necessary to keep man's evil wills in check. If you give man the freedom to act upon his wills, it will get ugly. This is the main problem with capitalism - it allows, even encourages, man to engage in cutthroat behaviors, at the expense of others. Without regulation, greed and corruption will take over.
I wholly agree with Hobbes on this issue. We need the Leviathan to keep order. Otherwise, chaos will ensue. Therefore, government is necessary.

Look at all the innocent people in jail? I know there are innocent people in jail, so...this is your argument for not needing jails...or what? Yes there may be innocent people in jail, but that is not an argument for not needing jails(or police/courts). What do you propose we do with criminals?
Arguing against the Iraq war is one thing, however, again, this is not an argument for not needing a military.
And even if everyone were armed, there would still be a need for police. It is mind numbing that you would think if everyone were armed there would be no use for police. So if a husband hits his wife, the wife should just get her gun and shoot the man. If a store catches someone shoplifting, what do they do? Shoot them? Or let them go so they can shoplift somewhere else? And what about courts? who settles disputes?
You obviously haven't put too much thought into this.

Smedly Buttler read his book War is a Racket it is like 20 pages long. Wouldn't you think twice about robbing someone who you knew was or could be armed? Some countries take hands and feet for stealing. In this day and age EVERYTHING is a crime. You don't need courts to settle disputes there are other ways to do such things.
What are police good for now tasering people, shooting dogs, beating unconscious people, being boss hogs, among other things.
Maybe you need some intestinal fortitude.

So then you advocate Retail Stores shoot shoplifter. So if a 14 y.o kid steals a sweater, shoot them? If an armed gang is terrorizing a neighborhood, you just have to be willing to fight to the death? If you cannot afford a gun, you deserve no protection?
If you don't need a court to settle disputes, how do you propose disputes are settled? So if I hire you to do something, and at the end of the job I don't pay you, what do you do...shoot me? If you pay me to do something, and I don't do it, what are you going to do...shoot me?
What are police good for? Umm, arresting criminals? I had my truck stolen once. The police put it on there hot list, and 2 days later I had my truck back. Are you saying if your car was stolen you would not call the police because it wouldn't help? What about if your child was kidnapped? WHat if you came home to find your wife murdered? What are the police good for...pfft
