Backup Power for Pumps

Anyone heard of them? I know they have them for computers. Summer is creeping as well as the summer thunderstorms, if my power goes off, and I'm at work I'm in big trouble for a extended period of time. Is there a backup generator of some sort that isn't extremely expensive just to run 4 pumps in case the power goes out? Thanks!

A computer back up would probably work but I think they last about 3 hours. Maybe they make ones that last longer now, idk.

Get a UPS for computers they would work great. Even a smaller sized one could handle the power of most pumps for a while.
They come in all sizes, and I mean ALL SIZES so just get one that will give enough juice for your pumps.

Thanks, I found one online for $90 with 6 outlets.

Did you notice this part:

8 minute maximum backup/run time

I don't think that is going to help you much.

Also be careful about all those ports. I have 8 on mine for my pc but only 2 of them are back ups. The rest are just surge protection.

Check out craigslist there's always some decent deals for them on there as they're hard to resell.
Even if it's used the batteries can usually be replaced and it should function good as new. APC
makes some really good ups.

Guessing the 8 minute spec is an estimate for a computer, i suspect pumps would use less wattage... But not sure.

A PC one should be good, as has been stated, i think the timings offered are most likely averages for a standard computer, not little airpump
