Ayn Rand VS Rand Paul

Ayn Rand (pronounced /ˈaɪn ˈrænd/;[1] born Alisa Zinov'yevna Rosenbaum; February 2 [O.S. January 20] 1905 – March 6, 1982), was a Russian-American novelist, philosopher,[2] playwright, and screenwriter. She is known for her two best-selling novels and for developing a philosophical system she called Objectivism. Born and educated in Russia, Rand immigrated to the United States in 1926. She worked as a screenwriter in Hollywood and had a play produced on Broadway in 1935–1936. She first achieved fame in 1943 with her novel The Fountainhead, which in 1957 was followed by her best-known work, the philosophical novel Atlas Shrugged.
Rand's political views, reflected in both her fiction and her theoretical work, emphasize individual rights (including property rights) and laissez-faire capitalism, enforced by a constitutionally limited government. She was a fierce opponent of all forms of collectivism and statism,[3][4] including fascism, communism, socialism, and the welfare state,[5] and promoted ethical egoism while rejecting the ethic of altruism.[6] She considered reason to be the only means of acquiring knowledge and the most important aspect of her philosophy,[7] stating, "I am not primarily an advocate of capitalism, but of egoism; and I am not primarily an advocate of egoism, but of reason. If one recognizes the supremacy of reason and applies it consistently, all the rest follows."[8]

Randal Howard "Rand" Paul (born January 7, 1963) is an American ophthalmologist and politician who describes himself as a "constitutional conservative".[2] He is the third child of Republican Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. Paul is the chairman and founder of Kentucky Taxpayers United.
Paul is currently the Republican party candidate for one of Kentucky's United States Senate seats.

The only real difference I can see is Ayn was born in, (Gasp) Russia, while Randal Howard was Born in Texas. Their basic Philosophical differences don't appear to be that great. I wonder how much influence the Russian political system of the time played on Ayn??
It is obvious that Randal got his philosophy from his father, who probably got his from Ayn and people like her.

I agree with the idea that people can run themselves but to a certain degree.
Rand Paul's view that private businesses being able to not serve people diff from them is completely wrong on moral subjects and even "Americans high morals". Every man is created equal. For every so called libratarian, constituon lover.

I believe the govt has to enforce the rights all Americans. And something as simple as discrimination and rasicm can not be allowed in America. I also believe America should be offering healthcare, and college schooling to anyone who deserves it. And espcially have the the authority to regulate any company thats trying to get rich in america and have suvh effects of ruining our entire sputheast region of america.

First of all, Rand Paul NEVER said he was for people discriminating against others. Rachael Maddow accused him of it, but she can and does suck a tit. Hey while your at it why don't we make America feed us all the food we can eat and gold plated toilets to shit into. Rand Paul also said we are too hard on BP and that they should regulate themselves. Well guess what 16 years of Clinton and Bush turning the regulatory agencies into just wing of a corporations they are suppose to regulate. So BP, the banks they all regulated themselves and look at where that got us.
Only thing I'd give Rand Paul is he's not a corp whore like the majority of democrts all 99.9% of republicans.

No he didn't say he FAVORED anything, he said that government should have no say in the matter. Rape is a violent crime against another individual. Not the same thing as not serving brown people in your restaurant. Crimes which cause actual physical harm or loss of property need to be dealt with. Some ignorant fuck who doesn't like jews and doesn't want to serve them in his own PRIVATE BUSINESS should not be dealt with by the govt. People are free to boycott businesses that do these types of things, therefore they probably won't be in business for long. Hey Tical, I don't think either Paul or Rand are anarchists who reject the concept of government. Rand thought that people are their best, happiest, most productive selves when their motivation is their own self interests and the government's main job should be to protect property rights. I think both Paul and Rand would say that it shouldn't be government's job to make life fair for the governed, or to tell them how to think about their fellow citizens or what they can smoke.

Your words, not mine. You act like everybody is just sitting around waiting for the opportunity to discriminate against somebody else. That's not the case and nobody is advocating bringing back the "good old days" of the Watts riots or segregated drinking fountains. I know all about the civil rights movement and I do believe there was a time when we needed to protect certain groups from discrimination. I don't believe that's the case anymore. Case in point, we have a black prez. It wasn't the black vote that got him elected. There were a whole lot of white people who had to vote for him or else he wouldn't have gotten elected. I think this was Rand Paul's whole point but has been spun into and mischaracterized as "Rand Paul hates blacks and thinks they should be discriminated against." Come on! This is 2010 and yes, racism is alive and well, but is it ever really going away? At what point do we say "enough" to government expansion? They exceeded their intended function a long, long, time ago! And the things they are supposed to do they can't do worth a shit anymore! Our government has become the laughingstock of the world.
