Average outdoor yield from 5 gallon pot?

What a good ball park for healthy green low yielder like kush and a 4 month vegg plant in a 5 gallon pot. In a good spot with plenty of sunlight. Feed sparangly with aireated guano tea and molasses. Started since early april and will be flowering early augest.

How big are they now?

They were heavily low stressed trained to stay as short as possible 1.5 feet tall and 2.5 feet wide and 2.5 feet long. I counted 10 colas at the 6-9th node each cola. It will probably finish at 2.5-3 feet tall and 5 feet wide and very dense from training.

i bet a QP or more if u have good weather

Lol 10-15? Are you serious on a 4 month vegg plant in a 5 gallon comtainer? With a strain like kush too, i would really nut in my pants if what you are saying is true

One never gets the impression people's legs get pulled around when such questions are asked. It's all a grand mystery....the yield. I do think there has to be some limitations with such root restrictions though. That should be the 1st expectation or lack there of. I'm sure there are some freakish exceptions to the rule but just look at your plant and try to imagine it finished. Does it have a robust thick stem? Is it 2 feet or 3 feet high? If it's not very big your expectations should be restrained but they should always be.

Take my advice when i say this brother. I use to grow EVERY YEAR in 5 gallon buckets. This year I transplanted mine from the 5 gallon buckets into the ground and WOW! I never seen plants soo big! Transplant them asap into some nice soil in the ground and watch them take off like wild fire!

huge difference in pots versus in ground.Last yr i used 18 gallon pots had big 5ft plants.They yielded about 6-8 oz each.That was from seed started in may....

Ground and soil are not the best terms to use because not every ground is the same. I've seen plenty of soil pictures on this and other sites and I wonder if anyone takes any time to help develop really good loam. I'm not saying I have the best but i certainly know the only way to really improve things is to really work in a lot of organic or as I call it orgasmic matter into the soil. I call it that because your best friend the earthworm and going to going to town on that and help aerate the soil. Many ways to go about it but deep rich loam with lots of trace minerals and organic matter that is cared for in the winter with a cover crop or catch crop will beat any bucket and day of the week. Container gardening is good but just think about all those roots with no where to go. Now imagine taking your garden fork and sinking in nice and easy and deep. Raised beds are good too but don't be lazy and just set up boards and fill it in. Start by rototilling or tilling the native soil. It's full of nutrients that's locked up. Till it really well then work in cow manure, peat moss, leaf compost, compost, horse manure, sea weed, kelp, other fish related products. Adjust the ph and make sure you don't leave it bare to wither away. Cover crop or green manure does wonderful things for the soil and helps prevent erosion. Still not saying container garden is bad(love my San Marzano tomato plant I started late...nice lush green leaves and fruit developing)just saying don't over look that garden. You can also be growing vegetables and composting those things to side dress your containers. I gave my tomato plant my best compost and it is loving it. MJ likes compost too.

I was going to say it, if you didn't.

5 gallons with extreme care may get you a QP per plant, but only one grower in ten will get it done. The plants will need daily watering very soon, if not already. Maintaining nute levels in small containers can create all sorts of problems.

I'd suggest moving your girls into 15 gallon containers. I have a stress free method for transplanting on page 38 of my 2010 grow thread. Before transplanting, let the root ball/soil get dry without wilting the plant. The root ball will be lighter, and will hold together better during transplanting. I've exceeded a QP per plant in 15 gallon pots with no special effort. You will too, if you make the move, using my methods.

Look man i never said that 5 gal pots are better than the ground. Everyone wants to make that clear that they know that. Who doesnt know that, its common sense but i'm just saying if they get as big as he said it will be around a QP. That might be a high estimate but the shit grows like a WEED, Literally... Feed them alot of organics.. organic is the best and hardest to burn a plant with and i would never use anything but organic... give or take a few things. Cant always get EVERYTHING in organic but most. And my biggest statement that i always make is don't count on anything until its in your hands DRIED!!! and then get FRYED. Let me know how much u get bro.......

alright somethings wrong here, i can get a 5 ft sativa in a 5 gallon indoors under a 400, theres no way in hell u can get 6-8 oz out of a 15g pot ud have to be dumber then a rock first off it should be a damn bush and making a half pound minimum

qp very limited keep five gallon pots in your damn house the kind of plants you wanna grow aint gonna be achieved in that 5 gal

lol TWS meds put my dick in the dirt... id say its safe to say yes.... yes he has grown before this thread has died... but from my expierence 5 gal buckets outside can very with strain and genetics. and would need lots of attention indeed as the plants would absorb, use and presperate the water in one evening with a 5 foot vegging plant. averaging around 4 -16 ozs, again all depending on the strains variables.... im prolli no help tho... jus rambling in a thread.... good luck with ur answer bro and good luck _Tycoon
