OK this may not work with all strains, but it sure did work with my Short Rider from Nirvana.
After having a female in a plain dwc, I placed it into organic soil. The transplant obviously shocked the plant, needless to say it worked. I did this for other reasons. Anyways after people telling me they would die, if doing this it succesfully worked.
Anyways I notice the plants did not autoflower at all. Well 2 did show pre flowers but never finished. this was while there were on a 18/6 cycle. After 5 good weeks I decided it was time for 12/12 well I started to get some pre flowers coming in some more. Well long story short I took the plant after 12/12 for like a week I threw it back in the 18/6 and WOW! This plant has had a vigrous flower growth. The same plant that was in a dwc. Now for a control I already had another short rider in a soil container on 18/6 from birth. That has had preflowers but still no flowers filling it.
I am going to throw that in the 12/12 cycle and see that helps. This may not help everyone but it seems that the plant really took a boost in flowering.
