Autoflower v regular seeds

I only grew 2 times in my long rich 18mnths carrier :) so I will state only that I read when I was investigating 12/12 from start (I wasnt satisfied with potency of my first grows) ,and It says that foto will still have at least two-three weeks of veg then going in pre flower,so its like a whole month before real flowering, sutoflowets at least new ones are starst preflower at 16 days,so by third week they are in flowering...give that most of photo strrains are 60 day flowering you have full 90 day cycle, and you have a lot of 11 week af. strains, with you can pull off 3 oz easy..i read that photo runed 12/12 f.s hardly give you more than 2 oz.. correct me if I'm wrong..
these are both 12/12 from seed, I use DWC to get them bigger, I run full strength nutes nearly the whole time. This one should yield me 3-4, the taller one probably the same after its fattened. Contrary to the popular knowledge I've encountered few seeds that won't do well 12/12 from the start

Some of the times you lot have been talking about for auto finishes... You guys serious? 3 weeks, then 8-10 weeks!

If it takes longer than 65-70 days from seed, then grow the photoperiod version.

I have 5 set up's. 4 for autoflowers. I always grow on 24-0. If you plant an autoflower, in a 25 litre pot of soil, even a stunted auto will give you 4 ounces minimum. 6 litre pot - 28-42 grams under same conditions for a stunted auto.

Try Sweet Seeds Trainwreck and Sweet seeds Fast Bud#2!

You want fast auto's.. try those. I know they are Spanish, so you girls and boys from the US may not choose them ahead of American genetics, but imo should give them a go instead.

Normally 56 days from seed will be a nice time to harvest fb#2.

The trick is to raise the light really high when they are growing, so you don't stress them out. But mainly to let them stretch up to the lights, then the lower branches can finish level with the top buds with zero training. Have the light too close and the yield is fuck*d as the plants grow too compact.

In fact many people think they have stunted their auto's with many other things, but didn't realise the poor yields from auto's are always from squat plants from the lights being too close. So much easier to hit the right region of perfect rh with a raised lamp.

For a round of auto's I go

Bio Bizz all mix from go

25 litre pot from go

2 feeds, 1st at end of week 4 (1/2ml fish mix - per 1 litre)
2nd when it's dry next. 1.5ml per 1 litre fish mix

Rest of the time I give them bubbled tap water, which is bubbled to ph 7.7.

I'm smashing it like this! I don't grow many photoperiods, as I can yield far more with auto's in the given time. Though couldn't resist a tent of the Cinderella.

I pretty much grow autos from Sweet Seeds and Dinafem. The best two from a big bunch

So when you say lift the light as high as you can do you mean right from seedling, heigt is a issue for me i only have 7ft of height to work in and with my photoperiod plants i normally keep around 18 inches away, all you ever read really is keep your lights close so this is different for autos ? Can anyone else comfirm this on lights ?

7ft is plenty for auto's! Yeah mate, let them stretch up to the light. You ever seen afghan kings grows? He doesn't grow auto's. but he has perfect technique with letting the plants grow up to the light!

As they grow up, the node spacing shortens each time, but there is still plenty of light getting to the lower part of the plant. Watch my journal if you like. I've got 4 set ups of auto's, which will all grow up to the light ;)

Instead of talking the talk, I will walk the walk lol

The way I look at it is that if a grower can't grow a photoperiod plant worth a damn they won't do well with autos either. And vice versa .The only real down side to autos is that you can't clone so we always have to state with seed and you have to deal with the different phenotypes within a given strain. Other than that I LOVE autos. I run 95% of my grows are ran on 24/0 other than that it's 20/4. I feel running an auto any less than 20/4 you are leaving flowers on the table.

Autoflowers do very very well in DWC/hydro, just as photos do. Here are a few of my last autos in DWC.

Mephisto Sour Crack.....64 days from sprout to chop. Yield was 6.7oz dry. This was my first DWC plant.

SourCrackDay64.jpg

Bomb Seed Cherry Bomb auto..

She was 74 days sprout to chop, yield was 7.9oz dry....

CherryBombday71.jpg

A couple Mephisto Grape Crinkle's. Both were 71 days from sprout to chop. The first one was over 1,500grams wet and 12.47oz dry! I never did a final weight on the second one but it was a little lighter than the first.

All of these were grown with simple General Hydroponics FLORA 3 part and under either cheap MarsHydro 300 or the Mars 300 and 100w of Cree cxb3590.

Simple basic rules of thumb for autoflowering strains.

#1 start them in their final pot. Most don't like to be transplanted.
#2 Don't top them. LST is fine.

Holy crap. How much room did they take up to get to those weights?

Asking because I've got almost 2sq foot of space. With about that in height too. I know I can't grow massive autos in that space. But I've got the lst method down pat.

Here's my third attempt at growing. This is an unknown strain. Second run. Half way through flower. Possibly looking at trying an auto after this.

The autoflowering cross a made is just as potent as any regular strain (super auto x auto)
