Can you/or does anyone do any techniques like topping, fimming, super cropping to auto flowers? Sorry if this has already been addressed, thanks.
I think you can but it will hurt yield. LST may help a little but I may be wrong. I am a newb and this was my first grow so maybe someone else can chime in for us because I would like to know too.

Sup Guys and Gals,

Just lookin for a bit of advice from fellow auto growers.
Ive got 8 Easyryders going at the min in NFT system.
Its day 47 and they're doing alright except for one of em.....

Seems to have female pre flowers and look like a girl to me but just hasn't developed nice juicy flowers like all my other girls.
Personally i think its just a dodgy seed that hasn't got the AUTO traight to it and it needs to go on 12/12 to induce flowering but im thinking bout choppin it down to give others a bit more light to lower nuggs.

Any Help or comments would be great..
Peace..

First pic is main cola of suspect plant
Second pic is all plants together and the suss one is back row, second in from left.
Hi all,

I've made the decision to chop this plant down and was wondering if anyone could help.
I need advice coz if i chop it, the roots will still be in the tray and theres no way i can separate them and get rid of em. just wondering if the roots will rot in the remaining 3 weeks and cause issues with other good girls in tray....

Cheers:leaf:

just chop it right above the first nodes so it stays alive. then you won't have to worry bout the roots and you will still give the rest of the plants room and more light. anyone else have any input on this? hope that helped

Never top or FIM your AF plants, they will hate you for it. By the time they are large enough to be topped, it would be like topping a normal strain a couple weeks into flower. It will stunt the growth so much that it will actually reduce yield. Super cropping I am unsure of but I assume the same applies. The life span is just so short that it doesnt have the time needed to fully recover and gain anything.

LST is always fine, and sometimes absolutely necessary. I would say it can improve yields also, but its all dependent on how many plants your growing, what style (SOG, Scrog, etc.). My best advice is to let them grow completely natural until you have height problems, then train with LST if necessary.

Im with Crazytrain on this one. Chop her down to about 2-3 nodes though and just keep trimming the new growth back every week or so. That way it will still grow at a decent rate and you wont have to worry about stunting it so bad that it dies. And the answer to your question is yes, 3 weeks would most certainly be enough time for rot to occur. 3 days after pulling a few clones out of my tray, I have white moldy spots on each spot where a few roots got left behind. It doesnt take long.

Has anyone grown Easy Ryder outdoors? I heard that it usually takes around 75 days to mature fully outside, is that accurate?
Because I am going to start an outdoor grow in 2 weeks and would like to do at least 2 harvests before October.

Ahh that sucks...how many posts do I have to make before showing my gyrl...? He could of said something....
She will prob be finished by the time I post her centerfold...well she is about 66 days now and smellin and lookin nice. Crystals still clear though, and fan leaves are yellowin..Here is an idea of what she looks like 14'' tall 23'' x 17'' wide many branches a bushy lil bitch..If the 75 day think is right then she will be done in a lil more than a week, maybe first day of spring...or maybe St. Patricks day.
The lights are my rainbow and she is my pot of gold....:bigjoint:

I believe the post count is 50 :(

Best thing to do is just go to the growing forum that interests you most (indoor, outdoor, hyrdo, etc.) and start looking through grows. Also hit up the grow logs too. That way you can learn a little bit from others, as well as make a quick post praising their hard work. Its a win win scenario :) Everyone always appreciates positive feedback, or any feedback at all most times.

Also, +rep to those who are deserving is a great idea to help get your future posts seen and replied to.

Welcome aboard, happy posting :)

Hey, can anyone tell me if these AF plants are made by cross-pollination or is it from genetic tweaking?

xxoo
Melizzard

Years and YEARS of cross pollinating high potency indica or sativa cannabis with autoflowering, nearly zero THC ruderalis. The ruderalis is the only cannabis plant that autoflowers naturally, but it also has pretty much zero THC compared to the 2 well knowns, indica & sativa. Eventually they got the offspring to carry the high THC levels of the sativa or indica, and the autoflowering trait of the ruderalis.

Most people have only heard of Indica and Sativa because not many people brag that a part of their AF genes came from a plant with almost no THC. Anymore, AF strains have come so far that they rival some non AF strains, but for now, the hard hitting extremely potent strains belong to the non AF cannabis strains. For now, muahahaha.....:twisted::twisted:

Also, you could technically consider cross pollinating and genetic tweaking the same thing. In fact, Im not sure if theres a way to tweak the genetics of a plant without cross pollinating it. Its all about getting the offspring to carry the good traits from both mom & dad, and none of their bad or unwanted traits.

http://www.nirvana-shop.com/en/outdoor-marijuana-seeds/short-rider-feminized-5-seeds.html

Deff gonna order 5 of these this week and put them outdoors. What do you think, is this a good strain? yeild? type of high?
No complaints from me. I personally can't tell it's any less potent than some of the other non-AF strains. It's fast easy buds too.

In fact, I just twisted one up, gonna toke on that beeyotch in about 20 minutes :bigjoint:

BIG THANKS to KolorBlind & hempstead for the info...
I would like to know about harvest time for easy ryder if it benefits from leaving it in darkness for 2 days before cutting or not? And has anyone tried the double diesel yet..? I would like to find out more on that, it may be my next try. And if any1 can tell me about the quality smoke of the AF diesel....KolorBlind some a nice 1's they don't look to branch out ..and they stay short...

Nimbin & KB, thanks a ton. Unfukn-fortunately, you all are right on the $$.

What a pain in the dick. THanks for the call though.

WHat am I lookin @ here?

Is the smoke gonna be worth a shit?

What I don't get, is that everything I read before & after I started the girls, regarding pollination said that as a female flower is pollinated. Bud & trich growth cease & the focus all energy on bean production. However, the flowers have continued to really fill out here in the past few weeks. Lookin pretty sexy (was all excited till I yanked one of those buggers off & found what I have been pickin out of bags for over 15 years now. MAN I'm PISSED. But you called it Nimbin. You have 15 years in hydro, shoulda never doubted & got my hopes up. I just have another kind soul on riu whos been helpin me, and even he concurred that since blooms were continuin to flourish, I dodged the bean bullet.

NOT THE FUKN CASE. Nothing against my man on here, he has been more than helpful, as you all have also been. Just convinced myself for past few weeks that I had true sinsemilla goin. FUKKKKKKKKK.

The beans do look very healthy & ripe (as if thats a fukn consolation). Have a good bro I will give to for OD grow this spring. I have photo girls sprouted & dying to replace these autos. Only got bout 2 weeks more. Should I keep runnin them.

I mean if there's not gonna be any flava @ all, nor thc content, fuk em, rather get reg. photos going.

Please lemme know ya'lls thoughts.

Thanks for everything guys,

Sorry for being profane, Ijust feel like I got kicked in the nuts a few dozen times.

Also, this stuff gonna be worth a damn to try bubble schisch?? There are a good amount of crystals that have been intensfying daily.

Thanks my brothers

What a pisser

I did. Last summer/fall on my balcony. I chopped at day 70. You can check it out via the link in my sig. The Easyryder is towards the end of the journal. I'm planting some more this week, with an eye on doing a couple of harvests as well. Best of luck!

Great thread! I just ordered 30+ types of autos and a dozen various others...so I just got my 1st order of La Diva Feminized and snowrider feminized so hopefully they turn out well. I have some widdow and diesel and a couple crosses a couple weeks into flowering but they aren't autos so the seeds I started today are what interest me, especially since the THC is supposed to be pretty decent with them...

I tried the whole 2 days in the dark with my first batch of sensi Diesel Ryders and thought I noticed a bit more resin production. I think I may have been a bit bias because I wanted it to make a difference so bad. If you are out of smoke and waiting on the harvest, Id say screw the 2 days in the dark personally.

The Diesel Ryder was a good smoke, but not the best Ive had. The taste was FANTASTIC which was almost enough for me. The high was not very hard hitting, and sometimes took a couple bowls or a big joint to feel a full effect. The smell is very very, VERY strong so be prepared if you have to hide smell, because you pretty much wont be able to.

Bummer man, so sorry to hear. But I do have some good news for you, ready....wait for it.....ok here goes: You are overreacting bro!!! :)

OK, so lets start with the cons. You have seeds in your bud that have to be picked before smoked. You might accidentally smoke a seed which WILL piss you off. Your weight will be SLIGHTLY less.

Now for the pros. Next year when your buddy harvests those beans outdoors, you will forget about every con on the previous list. Your plants were pollinated early on and only once. You still have great trich production which means potency should not be affected that much at all. This also means that taste should not change (unless you smoke a bean hehe). You can keep a few seeds for yourself and have a chance at discovering a cool phenotype within its genes. And last but not least, you are still getting BUD!!

Whatever you do, dont stop this grow. Let it go until you see at LEAST 50% amber trichs and I promise you it will get you PLENTY stoned. In nature, MJ gets pollinated many many times throughout the season which really slows bud production. Your plants were pollinated only once and probably not with that much pollen. Even plants outdoors eventually start working completely on bud production to shelter the seeds, it just takes longer. So in short, you should be fine my man. My mentor grew a crop when he was 18 and was to scared to go back and pull the males. We harvested the crop and found that over half the plants were male. The bud was almost more seed than bud but it was some of the best smoke Ive had since he let it go till the very end of the season.

No seeds would have been preferable, but man you really lucked out on this one since you caught it when you did. Just imagine if you thought your male was just some funky female and let it grow even longer. Let em finish fully, pick out every bean, save some for you and give the rest to your buddy. Next year (or this year if thats the plan), reap all the rewards and be glad this happened :)

Very well thought out analysis of my situation. Yes, I totally over reacted, & your message was right on the money.

I really appreciate you breaking that down like a fraction for my overly emotional state right now. I am just moving back to west coast at end of summer & really coulda used some buds w/ some really nice bag appeal, and I'm sure ya know what I mean there. But like you said, if nothing else, I'll have some bitchin head stash while other ladies finish. And even if the combustiables aren't that great, I can make confections, scheesch & all that good stuff.

Thanks for pullin me out of my drama queen state homey.

Great, down to earth sagacious advice.

I show do appreciate the time my man!

Thanks again
