Autoflower Thread & Resource Guide

yo all! I am happy now with autoflowers. I just checked my road runner and she is just starting to bud a few weeks old. If that. Very nice in a five gallon bucket that I drilled little holes all over, like a smart pot. I tried autoflowers before with some horrible results. My lr2s got like three feet high and never flowered before I cut them to make way for some reg plants. Ow. Well I am plannng on doing some other road runners too. I have yeild problems with my grow style, organic soil, so I dont know what to expect. I am trying to fig out my yeild probs but the organics makes some nice buds anyway. I am on a 24 hour 400 watt lumatek veg tent where autoflowers go too now. I will have pics when they get exceptional.

first of all i do not germinate my seeds i plant them directly into my medium ( soil )

first pictures are 7 days old ( 3 days above soil )

some people hook their fans to the timer, i perfer not to, in nature wind does not stop just because its dark as long as you have the tempature at night under control you will be fine.

I have just bought 8x600 watt light set ups,i need some advice,tips,i know the basics,but could really do with some more knowledge,on how many plants,how long it takes potential yield,and so on..thanks for reading this...

Sorry to tell you this man but that's just TOO big for the 1st grow. Even if you're in a legal state, that's too much light.

I would suggest using just 2 600w lights to begin with. One MH for vegging chamber, and one HPS for the flowering room. Stagger the light times as well so that it doesn't blatantly look like an 18/6 or 12/12 lighting schedule to the local electric company.

Research Sea Of Green. This will be the way for you to go. Or, look up MBlaze, and you could grow trees. You'll get plent of weed and experience with these methods before you need to even think about adding more lights.

And don't bother growing autoflowering plants. If you've got room for 8 600 watt lights, you've got room to set up a veg and flower chamber for stronger strains. The strength of your strains will be important as I imagine you're not planning on using a 8 light set up for "personal use" only.

Hey guys, my babies are really looking rough this morning. For the last couple of days they have been developing a yellowish tint to the tops and it spread down from there. I thought it might be N deficiency but that might not be it since it started at the top. Anyway, I took them out of the soil pots this morning and stuck them in the hydro unit to try and save them. At least that way I know exactly the environment they are in and how much of what. 501ppm of Dutch Masters Grow nutes, 4.6 pH. If anyone has any experience with this sort of malfunction please let me know; I do NOT want to lose these babies!

Another quick question. I'm just growing one plant right now. It's an AF ak47 x with lowryder 2. I'm using 4 100watt equivalent cfl bulbs. Do you think that will be enough? The temp has been around 80-82.

Hey guys, just a slight update on my Diesel Ryder SOG. I am using a single 150w HPS in a fully gutted mini fridge. Oh yeah, and sorry in advance to all you 56kers and mobile browsers, I went a little picture crazy with this post

I harvested my 2 smallest due to some damage they received when I neglected watering too long. I currently have 6 left in the mini fridge and they are all 2-3 times the size of these and MUCH denser/healthier.

That's it for now, glad everyone is enjoying the thread, I sure would like to see more pics of what everyone has going though. I love seeing all the different AF strains growing. Also, if anyone is currently growing an AF strain that is potent yet low odor please post pics and any info, Im on the lookout for a good low odor strain for my next AF grow. HERE is a link to my current DR thread over on ICMAG for anyone interested.

OK, I've been lurking here for a couple years now and finally am starting my first grow... 10 DR seeds from Attitude waiting to pop...
That last pic is of the light leaking... only a tiny blur of light at the bottom.
I have a homemade carbon can on it to hopefully take care of the DR smellies!

Oh hey, one more question that I dont think I've seen in this HUMONGOUS thread...
Has anyone tried to increase yield on AF strains by LST, SCROG or Topping? I think topping might be counter-productive with AF, but was hoping someone with experience with these little guys could weigh-in....

LST - would help a little, especially on the bigger AF strains like auto ak47, but they stay so short that light penetration isn't really an issue.

SCROG - same thing.

Topping - completely useless, no veg stage for them to sprout new nodes.

My auto AK47's (link in my sig) grew to a little over 2ft, I would do a little LST next time, but don't think it would make a huge difference.

I was thinking that was the case with SCROG. topping, etc and Autoflowers...
I would THINK it's similar with "super cropping". I MIGHT try to super crop a couple of the girls before they start flowering.
If anyone has tried this please let me know what your outcome was. I realize if i do try it that i'd have to be very careful to not damage the branches TOO much while squeezing, as they'll still be quite young and fragile at that point.
