YUSSSSS southern hemishere, northern is like ice now !!!!!!!!!! hahaha

Peace
Lol, I wouldn't exactly say like Ice. It was still in the mid 90s here today, and over 100 last week. Temps aren't a problem at all here until at least Dec., but the light starts to fade pretty fast by mid October.

Let me give you heads up, Nirvana has pulled all the new AF are not selling them anyone. I've been in contact with them about these AF and they have agreed that the seeds they sold are not viable. They takes months longer to finish, grow way too big, and ofter fail to flower. If you are growing a Nirvana AF and your plants are less then four weeks old, you would be better off pulling them now. MY NL AF are over eight weeks old and still do not have any bud sites. If I had purchased normal seeds, and flowered them in the third week, I'd have three week old fowers/buds on my plants now. If taking five months to harvest indoors, while getting half the yeild (if they decide to flower at all) is acceptalbe, then let them grow. If they are less the four weeks old, you can start a new grow, finish at the same time, while getting twice the yeild with no risk of flower failure.

Ahhhhhh, that doesn't surprise me very much at all to hear that. I've read posts from a number of people complaining that their Nirvana purchased autos hadn't flowered after 4 to even 8 weeks, although they'd grown VERY large, and they had to switch them to 12/12. To be honest I don't even recall if I read any follow up posts from people saying that switching to 12/12 worked. Haven't read of anything like this happening with Attitude's autos, and all of the ones I purchased from Attitude flowered in less than 3 weeks (including the freebies).

Nirvana better have a serious game plan for giving refunds or exchanges, cuz they're gonna have a helluva lot of pissed off people that spent a ton of money on worthless seeds. Heck, a lot of first time home growers only got into it when they discovered Autos, and probably wouldn't even want to grow Photoperiod plants, so just offering them Photoperiod seeds as compensation doesn't make things right.

Thanks for the info!

What types of nutes have you seen success with on the "autoflowers"? I've been using monster bloom and pure blend pro bloom 1-4-5, with Fox Farm Ocean Forrest soil. It seems like with the amount of nutes already in the soil that it would be over kill to add nutes. Thoughts????

Lookin real good petey! Its hard to try to tell someone how long to go still but id say atleast a week if not two weeks or so I would probably start flushing in no later than a week. That is just my opinion and its really hard to try to tell someone by looking at pics but they look like they are nice and mature and fattening up but not many withered pistils to help indicate ripening.

I have heard of one guy that switching to 12/12 did help his plants bud. But then again, the plant may have just went into flowering. Hard to tell. They take a long to time flower, some will not flower at all. I switched to 12/12 myself, as I cant see the harm in it at this point.

Im confused... You have had a plant grow and not turn out male or female and finish its life cycle?

So I bought some Mdanzig Blue Ryder AF seeds from the Attitude. I got 10 seeds and plus 2 freebies(Dinafem Roadrunner and Dinafem Haze) but the Haze packet just contains crumbs of a seed like somebody broke it up and sprinkled the seed into the packet. But anyways, The Attitude had excellent shipping time. I got them 6 days after ordering and I live in the southwest US.

I presoaked 3 of my seeds until they sank(about 4 hours) and then attempted to germinate them using the paper towel method. The first seed germinated less than 12 hrs after starting. So I planted it into a Jiffy 12 seedling greenhouse. For some reason, the root grew up and out of the Jiffy plug so I had to carefully replant it correctly. It did great for 2 days, and they it lost color and went limp and died. I think my problem was too much water and probably too soon to use any nutrients and/or it probably wasn't a good idea to put it outside when it was so hot. I had also put just a little bit of Superthrive in a spray bottle and was using that to keep it from drying out and I just read that Superthrive is no good for AF for some reason. So I decided to wait for the other 2 seeds to germinate. Finally after 12 days the second seed germinated. I planted it in the jiffy greenhouse and have only been using reverse osmosis water for the first 2 days of it's life. the third seed is swollen and split open like it wants to sprout, but hasn't yet.

So my questions are...
Should I just be watering right now, or should I have the water supplemented with my nutrients? I was told to mix the General Hydroponics Flora Micro and Flora Grow to 100 ppm and use that to water with. Does this sound right?
Also, what would be the max temperature these can handle outside? I would like to set them outside on my balcony during the day but it ranges from 70 in the morning to 100 by the afternoon.

Right now the seedling is under a 90w Quad band UFO LED light and seems to be doing well.

Here is the exact seeds I ordered

This is the TDS meter I ordered. It came in just 2 days, I highly recommend this seller(ebay ID= e*train).

This is the UFO LED light I got(ebay ID= mixwholesale)

The PH meter that I ordered Sept 15th(haven't received yet)

Hopefully my PH meter gets here soon. I have no idea what the PH of my RO water is currently.

hey everyone, just wanna say this is an AWESOME thread.. I've read at least half this whole thing :D

I'm gonna be growing some autos here in about a month, I think I have just about everything down, but still a few questions. Here is my set up:

* 400W HPS with DIY cooltube
* FFOF soil
* DIY carbon filter + fan?

Questions:

* what's the best way to start/germinate auto seeds?
* will seedlings be ok under the 400W HPS? Will they stretch? Burn?
* can I have a carbon filter without needing ductwork and stuff? I would prefer just the filter and an inline fan
*can someone explain a nute schedule for autos please? I will be using fox farm nutes and FFOF soil

Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance!

that light will be fine as long as you keep them at a safe distance. they will stretch a bit, but it eon't be a problem. just don't keep them too far away as that will increase the stretch.

you don't need ducting but you will soon find out just how loud an inline fan will be and the ducting will help. i have a 6" inline that is just collecting dust bc it is too loud for my housemates, i use this:http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/itemdesc.asp?ic=AEFSC062&eq=&Tp=
