oh, cloning. Do you top em or clone em? With flowering starting at 2 weeks I am not sure? If they are on wk 3 and have started to flower at 4 inches is it too late or let em go naturally?
I have read a few articles re autos and IMO it is not wise to top the plant as it takes to long to recover and they are a fast growing plant. Also they are not clonable as the clone will flower at the same time as the mother so very small. If I'm wrong please correct me, I've only grown one strain and it was pretty good but not a true auto as it required 12 hrs to flower (Kanabia Mataro Blue). Christ I had it in the veg room and it just kept getting taller till I found out it needed 12, the whole ideal was keeping it in the veg room and still get buds!!!

thanks, What is going to happen if I move it to my 12 flower room? I dont want to have just one plant in the veg. area unless I have several.

They're good for outdoor grows if you want some bud and don't want to or can't wait all season. They can be harvested earlier in the spring or summer instead of fall. Assuming you can't grow indoors. They also stay short and are easier to hide. They have their own place, plus they have a higher CBD count.

To each his own.

Autoflowers are only good for guerilla growers, so they can smoke in the middle of the summer. If you can grow indoor, its not even a question...

btw, my best autoflower ever: Sweet Seeds - Black Jack. Truly masterpiece. Yielded : 45gramms.

Is it just me or can I smoke the crap outta an auto and barely get buzzed? I have only done one and it was WOS BBxNL and it looked nice and frosty but little potency? IMO if you have the space, get a momma and flower a cutting, it takes about the same amount of time. Heck- 12/12 from normal seeds kicks autos outta the water! No ruddy for me anymore, one and done!

Outdoor is where they would shine, and yes, be done early. Indoors does not make much sense really as you can grow a reg seed in 60-70 days under 12 (indica). This is all my opinion btw and I have not done many autos to compare quality.

Now you have me worried Upstate2626.

I have a WOS WW Auto (attitude freebie) growing outdoors, and get this, the fucking thing revegged on me. As of 2 weeks ago all was going well it was in a 10L growbag, 2ft tall starting to bud up, then I cut the bottom off the growbag and planted at half depth in the ground with 2 other clones. (couldn't keep up with watering it daily is the reason I planted it out)

I can only hope it'll finish and not be nice looking &tasting with no high, coz that'd really piss me off.

Word to the wise, Don't transplant autos, they may very well re-veg. (If I'd done my homework I would have known that you should plant autos into the pot they are to flower in)

Here she is, all 4ft of her:wosWW.jpg

sorry for bumping a 7 year old thread but since there has not been any new breakthroughs with autos and since i dont want to start a new thread i figured a comment shouldnt hurt.

  • autoflowering strains - are only good for outdoor growing if you live at a 40 or higher latitude especially if you are looking for a strain that has a 60+ day flowering time. this will give us more northern growers a chance to complete a grow without worrying about late august and september frost at which point your plant will normally only be 2-3 weeks into flower at this point and latitude this far north. but other than that they are completely useless and i believe a complete and total waste of breeders time to even meddle with when they could be using their time perfecting and stabilizing current strains and creating new crossbreeds.

i personally dont grow outside because the weather is to unpredictable and in my 25 years of growing over 2000 different strain types and varieties indoor is vastly superior than outdoor when it comes to quality and potency so i would never have a need for autoflower. i personally like to be in control of my plants and grow them to their maximum potential.

so in conclusion unless you live in the borean tundra and the frost will hit the grow before the daylight hours get short enough to trigger plant flowering then autoflower is a joke and a complete waste of time. personally i believe that the creation of autoflowering strains is a step backwards in cannabis culture and research because we have something called light timers that cancels out the need for autoflowering strains and the thing that is really annoying is that many many breeders and seedbanks are flooding their stores with this thrash making people like me not even want to deal with them or say anything good about them.

Watcha got growing their Ronnie? Looks great!
I have 3 different strains going. That picture is Purple Roc V2. Crystal Meth x with Roc Berry. 2 gorilla glue and 1 Mephisto Northern cheese haze x sour bubbly. They're 58 or 59 days old today. 5 gallon containers, smart pots in coco loco. 3 cheap LEDs. I wish i had purchased higher quality of lights. I plan on it next grow. Thanks for the kind words. Its my 1st grow and I a little bit proud of the grow.

Nice job! My first grow definitely didn't look that good :blsmoke:
Hahahaha. I bet it did. I learned everything here and Google. I do appreciate the compliment. They are stacking up pretty nicely. I throw a lot of organic and synthetic nutrients and supplements at them too. I push them really hard. But believe the heart of my mix is growers recharge, golden tree, house and gardens aminos with silicates and Neptune's harvest 0-0-1. Those 4 supplements are legit.

I use growers recharge, humic acid, golden tree, house and gardens aminos, house and gardens root Excelurator, tribus bloom bacteria 1x a week then jacks hydroponic 3,2,1 with house and gardens aminos, golden tree and Neptune's harvest 0-0-1 the next week. My root masses are going crazy

Nice!! Im working on some coots mix soil, trying to get it dialed in right now. So much to learn, but its definitely an enjoyable hobby.

My plants go wild for it. Its cheaper to buy direct too. Ebay and Amazon get almost 100 a bottle but its 35-40 at the site

I love autos. I only grow Euro breeders and don't understand why anyone would want photoperiods.

I also love long walks, sunsets, candlelight, and most importantly conversations with inanimate objects.
