Autoflower madness!!!

Yeah man, she's packin' on the pounds. The only problem, and I don't see this as a dealbreaker, is that they are only about 6-12'' average. I am a strong believer that the pot size had something to do in relation to vertical height. But they should be some crystally nugs on the + !!!
I'm not going to come off here like I am an expert, Which I am not, obviously, but from what I read all over about auto's their size is in proportion to the size of the pot it is grown in (I'm going to grow some of my auto's in 3G pots and others in 5G pots). I'm also led to believe that since they grow so fast that a taller, slimmer pot is preferable to a short fat pot of the same size.

That being said she is a beautiful looking plant! I can't wait to see those crystal shots!

I've read the same with regard to Slimmer, Deeper pots because of longer Tap Roots - I'm currently using a 5 gal pot but think I'll go with 3gal next time.

Yo man, that is exactly what I am thinking. I think that their ''taproot'' is the indicator of how big they will grow vertically. My test will be when I get a couple more auto's to run in 12/12 with my Holy G 69, Jack H., and SBA, will be to put them in wine bottles. I bet you that they will be very tall. I think that the initial ''taproot'', once it hits bottom, the side roots start going outward and that would make them only as tall as the pot. I have seen many online pics with huge plants but I am unsure of how to get these results. Hmmmm....

Yeah, I think the taller, skinnier pot thing is something that has become the rule of thumb for the height of the plant, as well, with auto's...so, hey...just plant it is a 3-ft. tall section of 8-inch stovepipe for a REAL test...LOL. Yeah, and I am NO expert, either...just BTW...

night, all.

I agree. That is why I plan on growing some in 5G pots, 3G pots and I have these other long 3G growing bags that I don't like. I originally did not like them because they were so damn tall (Like 6 inches diameter and 18 inches tall) but I want to make some comparisons so I'll be using them when i start my next grow. I know it's kinda common knowledge that taller, slender is better but I'm a newb and I like to try things for myself. =D

I think that is mainly for the ruderalis/auto plants because the taproot is so sensitive that once it hits ''bottom'' the ''vegetative'' stage, since there is almost none, stops and flowering begins.

nodnarb7 geeze your girls sure are looking good. j/w how come you didn't LST ur Shot Adrenaline. I started to LST both my Shot and Big Bang Auto, but seems like they started to flower this week. So I don't know how well it's going to work. How tall would you say your's are now? I would say my shot adrenaline is 7 inches tall and b.b.a is 8 inches tall. I'm really hoping they double or even triple in size. Since they're in 5gl. bags, outdoors.IMG_0547.jpgthis is my Shot Adrenaline IMG_0546.jpg and this is Big Bang Auto.

Hey man, cool to see your grow, and with one of the plants that I am growing as well! Thank you so much for the compliment on the ladies. The Shot Adrenaline was LST'd a little bit at first, but then I kind of let it do its' own thing. I was worried that they were going to get like 2,3,4,5ft tall. But I undershot that ''hoop dream'' by a mile. I just measured the plants with a tape measure, and the heights are as follows: Auto Blue Mystic (5''), Auto Shot (6 3/4''), Auto Fruit (7''), and the Northern Lights Auto (7 1/2''). These measurements were for the highest ''top'' on the plant. Not too bad considering they have good bud development. I wanted bigger plants but as long as I have bud, I am a happy man!

They look like something might be wrong with them...are you over watering? Or are bugs getting to them? Caterpillars maybe? I used ''seven dust'' on my vegetable garden outside, suggested by home depot employee, maybe you should use some of that if your plants are having bug problems. Something just doesn't look right about them. IDK, just trying to give constructive criticism and help! :)

hey man I apperciate it. It's not criticism it's called honesty something alot people cant do face to face. But you know what I was thinking the same thing too. I'll have to look into 7 dust if this whole organic thing dont work that I'm trying. Just made up a batch just got to let it sit over night. One thing I did do two them about two weeks ago the caught a minor nute burn and are still showing signs of that as well.

Well hey man, depending on what kind of nutes you had when it was overdone, I would say flush with pure good ph water and do that for a week, watering only when the soil is dry. So maybe flush 1 or 2 times for the whole week. Give it a try cause nute burn is no joke. I am lucky enough to have gotten this far in my grow.

Looking great man. What strain You'd grow again ? Can You tell by now ?
So far, the auto blue mystic has the thickest buds and obviously they still have a month to go. I would not grow the auto fruit again since the smell is too overpowering to grow stealthily but I'm sure that the smoke will be awesome. It is hard to say right now since I can't smoke them. The auto Northern Lights from what I have read, will have the most stem useage in terms of bud development. I would also not grow the auto shot adrenaline again since it is very small and the buds don't look good yet. But it was free so I can't complain. Those were the 4, Auto Shot, Auto Blue Mystic, Auto Fruit, and Auto Northern Lights. And I have a Sweet black angel photo and a jack herer photo and a holy grail 69 photo but those have another month of veg before switching to 12/12.

Valuable data about autoflower strains. Many thanks for sharing this experience with us.
My sweet black angel (freebie) didn't germinate. I'd like to see that one too.

Thank you man, and I have 3 more Auto's coming in the mail as a last ditch effort to get more bud! I got 2x Big Devil, 1x Himalayan Blue Diesel, and 2x Free Fem Seeds. I will let you all know what the 2 freebies are. And sorry to hear that your seed didn't germ. What method did you use? I have been just soaking the soil and plopping the bean right in the pot. It has worked every time. Just make sure to keep the soil moist.

Paper towel method always work for me as long as the seeds are alive. I think it was dead.
Anyway , I germinated 2 roadrunner#1 's friday. They both showed tap roots in 24 hours, and transferred to soil this morning.
I'll be keeping them no more then 10 days in there and send to their final pots. 12 inch tall 5 gallon square pots will help them grow nicely.
I was off my head when I ordered them . They should be roadrunner#2's.
I must be the only moron whos ordering the previous generation of a strain.
This will be a balcony grow and I still expect to get good results. And this time I'll start a journal.

And I also made a mistake of ordering the Big Devil #1. I did not know that there are two others (Big Devil #2, and Big Devil XL which is crossed with Jack Herer). Either way, I myself am with you in saying that this should be a good grow. Lemmie know about your Journal man!
