Auto Seeds Auto #1 Grow. Day 48 and Day 33 Respectively. Dwarf my Aunt's Fanny.

These are part of my 1st indoor grow of any kind.

Setup is 1000w HPS straight from seed (it's all I got)
4-5 Gallon pots, 80% Peat, 10% Perlite, 10% Vermiculite
Seeds sewn directly in final pots
No nutes except what is inherent in the peat and perlite which are from MG
Cycle is 19/5

So the Auto #1's description from their website:
Code:
 [B]Auto #1[/B]

Auto #1 is our original autoflowering dwarf variety. At one of the lowest prices on the market, Auto #1 makes a great entry level strain. No separate room or light cycle is needed to flower. Passing directly from seed to the flowering stage does away with the vegetative growth period altogether so it finishes as fast as any other auto in our range. When creating Auto #1 we wanted a strain with an improved yield and taste whilst maintaining all the benefits of an autoflowering dwarf like Lowryder. Not only that, it has one of the lowest odour levels of any auto making it an excellent discreet grow. If given 20 or even 22 hours of light, the results can be truly satisfying. More vigorous and with a greater psychoactive effect, Auto #1 has a better taste than Lowryder and many typical autoflowering strains. It is considered very easy to grow, almost foolproof, and its dwarf like height makes it ideal for balconies, terraces or any place where space is limited. Auto #1 will thrive in most climate zones provided it is given plenty of light (even very northern latitudes).

 [B]Type: [/B]Indica/Sativa/Ruderalis
 [B]Height[/B]: 25cm-75cm
 [B]Harvest[/B]: 60-70 days from seed
 [B]Stone[/B]: All round body buzz
 [B]THC:[/B] Medium
So I have two Auto #1's growing...one on day 48 and one on day 33.

Here are some pics of the first Auto #1 taken 3 weeks ago on day 27:

PC110283.jpgPC110284.jpgPC110285.jpg

At that point, it was "so far, so good". Then all hell broke loose. The max height as listed on Auto Seeds website is 75cm (29.5"). I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit on that because here is the same plant above as she looks today on day 48:

P1010289.jpgP1010290.jpgP1010291.jpg

39" Tall. Mind you, no LST or anything. Not having any experience with autos, I thought it best to just leave it be. I was wrong.

So on my 2nd Auto #1, I decided the hell with it and have been super cropping her. Despite being an auto, I think it's taking. I will post pics of her later.

I have at least one immediate question...This is supposed to be indica dom., but does she look sort of sativa dom. to you guys and gals?

Looking very nice even if they claim to be dwarf maybe the pheno you got or the growing conditions are suiting the plant to the T and its loving it , either way looking tastey.
Nice work

Their looking very nice, I have a Critical + Automatic from Dinafem that is the same way. I had my doubts she was an auto, but she just like yours but not quite as good looking as yours, so good job whatever you did was great....

Thanks for the input guys. The truth is that the pictures are somewhat misleading. She actually looks like she's going to be a shitty producer. The inter-nodal distance is quite large and unless these fill out mightily I'm going to be disappointed in that regard.

Guess I'll know as she progresses.

Responding to above:

-For a small plant, in quality new soil, you don't need to add nutes. On the other hand, in your case your "soil" is actually a custom soilless mix. Peat isn't nute-rich, and perlite and vermiculite contain ZERO nutes. . .they're basically just filler to help keep the peat from clumping together too much. So if I were you, I'd add a bit. Not much (your plants don't look nutrient deficient). . .but some.

-Se-eds into final pots is always good, if you have the space to do it.

-Yes, the ad copy says 75cm (which is just under 30 inches), but they probably haven't tried growing one of these under a 1000W light in a three gallon pot! I'd "hope" that something this company calls "auto #1" is a stable inbred line, but I don't really know. Its possible yours is a taller/stretchier than usual pheno.

-If you have the space (and with a 1000W HPS. . you have it), I'd suggest doing some "LST" here. What you want to do is bend the lower plant branches away from the center cola and tie them down so they get more light. The idea is for light to hit the whole side of the branches, not just the tops. You don't want parts of the plants to shade other parts, if you can help it. (You can't always, though in your case, since you have enough light for 8 plants, I think you're ok!). Its not "too late" to do this now, though earlier would have been better.

-On indica/sativa dominant, in my opinion that distinction isn't nearly as cut and dry or useful as many think it is. Yes, your plant seems to have sativa-like leaves and structure, but I'm not sure what that "means", really. It could still have a short flowering time and/or "stony" effect. . .that remains to be seen. Note that its not unheard of for hybrid plants to start with indica-like fat leaves early then develop thinner ones after flowering, just as yours seems to have done.

They are starting to look nute deficient now. I finally took the 90 minute drive to the closest Hydro store and bought the Fox Farm trio. I used the soil growing chart, but added ½ the recommended amounts of Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. I thought maybe it best to see how the girl reacts to ½ the dosage before upping.

Have started doing some of this on the 2nd Auto #1. Will read up more on LST.

10-4. You might find this cool Jogro...It seems I can't escape the Williams Wonder. After doing research on Auto #1, I saw it was derived from Lowryder #1. Wouldn't you know it, Lowryder #1 claims genetics from the original Williams Wonder. Seems between these plants and my current 60 Day Wonder project, I am a test subject for your parent plant's genetics.

If I like how these two smoke, I will simply have to try the original! Too bad I can't get some male WW pollen just to see what happens if I pollinate a couple lower branches :). One thing is certain, these are low-maintenance plants, and for a newbie, I appreciate that!

Ok, here we are at day 55 on my 1st plant:

Obviously could have used some more N early on. Here is a better pic of a yellowing leaf:

P1080286.jpg

As mentioned above, I gave it a minor shot of nutes yesterday, but no signs of improvement yet. Out of sheer speculation, I think I have ~2½-3 weeks remaining.

Man I love greenery :D:

Ok, here we are at days 60 and 45 respectively.

Plant 1, Day 60:

Plant 2, Day 45:
P1130287.jpgP1130288.jpgP1130289.jpg

So let's see...
Gave one half dose of Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom to plant #1 watering before last. It will be the last dose of nutes for this one since I'm within a week or two.
Plant #2 has had a half dose as well, and will continue to get the same every other watering for at least the next couple weeks.

Notes thus far:
Very low odor, almost non-existant in early flowering. Tall and stretchy, not going to be a big yielder.

I would say I'm only a few days away from harvest on my first Auto #1. It's at day 67 today.

I would post pics but I'm not 100% sure anybody is watching :D

Here you go. From this morning (Day sixty-eight). Sorry I can't seem to get any closer with this particular camera.

I'm glad you said something, because I was giving serious thought to harvesting tomorrow (because I'm off work). Right now I would say the trichs are 15% clear, 80% cloudy and 5% amber. Mostly cloudy in any case....

If I don't harvest tomorrow, my next opportunity will be this Saturday, which would be Day 73 at that point.

nice frosty budz man! yeah looks ripe for sure. Have u scoped the trichomes yet with 80x or just by eye?

I only have a 50x loupe but it seems to work ok. It is sometimes hard to tell clear from cloudy for me, but I would have to say I'm at least 70% cloudy...not very many ambers tho.

Wish I could get you a better pic. the one area of growing i least comfortable with is the harvest. I always wonder if I am doing it too soon. My Dad was a grower in his youth and I remember him telling me that "when you think it's ready...go ahead and wait another week and you'll be right more often than wrong." Lol. Too bad he's not around any more for me to consult.

*EDIT* Autoseeds says typically 60-70 days from seed on their website. Don't know if you can put much stock in that.

Ok, the first plant was harvested yesterday at Day 69. Hanging to dry now.

I will try to get pics of the second plant soon.
