Can an auto flower plant go past its due chop date?

I have an auto flower thats due for chop in about 2-3 weeks, but she was stunned early on from cold temptures. She has bud growing but if i chop on the due date there will only be a few grams of dry smoke:sad:

So can i keep her going or will things just start going down hill in a few weeks?

That is a good question. I imagine all marijuana plants if fed properly will continue to grow into flower past their ideal harvest date. But I don't think they will go forever under 12/12. I would bet that you could get some more bud by not flushing and acting as if it isn't harvest time, but at the same time you might get some over ripe trichomes.

Since it's going for longer than normal just be careful and watch for bud rot and/or white and/or gray mold.

On my first grow I was growing some autos, Fast Bud, and I didn't know what I was doing and let them go way way too long, the trichs never seemed to turn so I just let it them keep growing thinking they would, plus I also had some stress along the way that stunted them.

Anyway, one day I saw what looked like a spider web on the bottom of one of the plants. A couple days later I chopped, and even though you couldn't see it from just looking at the plant, even with a magnifying glass, once harvested, every single freaking bud was rotted at the base of the bud with mold.

Even though it went way past (from seed to harvest was like 100 days) it smoked fine and was good but having all that mold sucked.

Man you let an auto go for 14 weeks? No wonder it rotted! I'm pretty sure most autos finish in 8-10

You're right, they do finish in 8 - 10 weeks. But these got stressed out a couple of times actually which made them stop growing, I did have them on 12/12 the whole time due to heat issues, and none of the trichs ever turned amber.

That's why I let them go so long. But it was my first time so it was a miracle I really ended up with anything at all, but it was good.:bigjoint:

I learned a lot for sure.

Well hopefully you learned they don't always go amber, and that amber is actually a bad thing (loss of THC). Autos should also get 18/6 their whole life, and one never stops learning :)
