Auto outdoor day/indoor night question

Hello gents, long time outdoor grower, took up indoor 2-3 years ago and just m discovered autoflowers a year a ago and have 5 good grows with them under my belt.

looking to see I anyone's experimented with indoor and outdoor growing an auto.

To explain;

i live in the north and we are approaching the later part of the growing season. Currently at about 14.5 hours daylight and going down. Harvest here is usually late September early October due to frost, so early stains are always a life saver.

Will be growing In a 3 gal pot, coco organic. And I am struggling to decide what to do with lighting. From my experience, my autos have done best under 18-20 hours of Light, I had an early outdoor harvest already the first week of July with in the ground autos but I've yielded more indoors with more light exposure.

i am thinking of starting the plant indoors for the first 2-3weks of veg under 20 hours light ,( a double fluro + 6 cfls ) and moving to 14 hours outdoor and 6 hours indoor for flowering to supplement the last few hours. Somewhat getting the best of both world, getting my lumen increase from the outdoor sunlight.

now the worries i have is messing with its light cycle and stressing it to the point of hermying on me.

Anyone have any experience or try anything like this? Feedback/ if you see other issues please key me know. I do have a separate grow area this will be kept to not contaminate any other indoor projects

thanks all you auto lovers out there

i've grown many autos outdoor in day and inside under cfl's at night. works great. i'm in south fl so the heat makes them grow faster.GL

What kind of cycle you running? 20/4 or 24h?

i only ever have a few on the go at one time so I don't want to flop with a hermy. Gotta keep my personal staff pumping!

So I should put my auto outside every day and put under my metal halide 250 watt when sun goes down …. So 24–light cycle?
