hey guys and gals was thinkin of doing a few autos this summer, gona sprout em at the end of march so they will get hella sunlight, i was thinkin of trying the afghan kush ryder from world of seeds cause ive read alota good feedback on that strain, they will be grown in 10gal smart pots cause i wanna make sure they have more than enought room for their roots to grow, more roots more fruit as they say, il sprout em in a seed tray with individual spots before they go into the 10gals, well here is my soil mix:

. fox farm light warrior for sprouting

10 gal mix:

. roots organics 707 blend
. fox farm happy frog potting soil
. fox farm ocean forest
. bountea organics humisoil
. earthworm factory fresh worm castings

- il mix these four soils together (i know il have extra soil so that will get added to the mix for the other ladies) then i will cut the soil mix 1/3 with perlite and add bark mulch to top of soil after i plant

soil additives:
. plant success granular mycorrhizae 3-1-2 (pre mix with soil before planting)
. fox farm happy frog japanese maple 4-8-5 (pre mix with soil before planting)
. fox farm happy frog bulb food 3-8-8 (use as a top dressing during early stages of flower)

liquid nutrients:
. fox farm big bloom
. wholesome sweentener's organic molassess

- i will also be adding sum compost teas during their life cycle

any ideas or feedback on what i could do to improve my mix for autos would be highly appreciated, or any ideas on what auto strains to grow, what strains have proven better than others cause there r alota new autos on the market and i havent heard alota postive feedback on sum, the afghan kush ryder seems to be a good auto but any info on other auto strains would be kool!

i will continue this thread throughout the autos life cycle ending at harvest, will have pics up as soon as they go outside

im not saying this to be rude or argumenitive, but your gonna waste alot of money using 10 gal worth of soil for an auto, unless a super auto. i think 5 gal would be more ideal for an auto since its not gonna use nowhere near the rootspace of a 10 gal. just something to think about.

with my experience with autos i agree with farmerjoe. during the short life span of autos the roots would do great in a five gallon. GL

Well in my limited experience with autos I've noticed they've tended to be light feeders, so if i were me I'd be cautious about too hot of a soil. You can always add more, but can't take away. It seems like a lot of people are growing that strain lately from what I've seen it looks like a decent plant.

farmerjoe ur not being rude or argumentive bro i posted this thread to get opinions from other growers u can never learn it all and other grower experinces are great info so hella thanx guys i was wondering if 10gal would be to big, ive read on here alot people havin bad harvest with smaller container but when they were using 5gals they had great results, but tha was mostly indoor so i wondered if maybe i should step it up to 10gal for outdoors, il prolly go with 5 or 7 gals, im gonna try to go light on feedin i figured the japense maple 4-8-5 would have enough nutrients to take em thro their life cycle without having to add extra, plus each soil mix is a good mix, i figured if they need more nutes i can top dress em or add a tea, thanx for the info guys what auto strains have u guys all grown?

check out a strain called pinkbud from secret garden seeds. it turns purple, pink, red, smells dank as shit, and feeds heavy like a hungry regular strain. the beauty is its potent and frosty as hell and its a dwarf variety and is reccomended for smaller pots and the yeild doesnt suffer either. i have a journal here where i made seeds and grew a few out, and i yeilded over 1oz per plant in 1 gallon grow bags. i just germinated 300 getting ready for the spring.
