Auto flowers and Super Soil

Nice plants btw banana. Do you have any pics of how you make the ball shape in your pots? How much ss do you use per 7 gallon pot?
I dont measure it out but a 7 gallon pot would get about 5 gallons of super soil then about a galllon and a half of plain promix as a buffer to give the seedling about a week before the roots hit supersoil, so the promix is about 7"deep in the pot.

i been running auto's in superin soil now for a few months

it is best if u stick with a feeding soil.....i have not found that point of perfection it is still given me red vein into flowering

if u get something dailed in for auto plants please shoot me a msg
What do you attribute the red vein too? Mag def? I have had a lot of mag def in the past and my current flowering plants are looking better than ever. I have top dressed twice with a tablespoon of epsom salts during flowering this time. I alsohave some different things in my recooked soil. Heres a list of ammendments I use, I just follow directions on the pack for application. Peat, coco base. Alfalfa meal, kelp meal, crab meal, azomite, humic acid, ewc, compost, greensand, dr earths vega blend, fish bone meal. I have used a number of other products like espoma plant tone, guanos, mushroom compost, that are part of my recycled mix from my first grows.

feeds
i have fox farm dirty dozen /go box/flora all in one kit/AN root mass builder

to fix it i hit with a dose of beastie bloom and tigerbloom ...little of big bloom calmag+ bud candy and a shot of the vegan food booster (more microbos to help covert)

before i used the soil ........i did the right way took out of bags filled a trash can with it 6 gallons of water over 3 months time now (added some micros and fungi so they could get in soil ....added in all the trim dead leaves plus what ever BHO left overs i had organic material for them to eat).....u know the soil i linked it to u

as for starting the plant i used rapid start rooting from the flora kit shit works get

Hey Just you have a couple minor deficiencies but nothing to get in a twist about. Shit I haven't had one grow that I didn't have at least a minor problem. Overall your girls look good. Keep tweaking it till it's perfect.

Mine in organic soil have some deficiencies too, but just a hint then they roll through it. Seems like maybe my soil is still cooking and changing...

Sounds very interesting. I like your philosophy. What I think I'm going to do is on my next grow do a couple tiered and a couple the way you explained. See which one gives better results and which one I'm more comfortable with. Thanks a million senile. I'll keep you posted on results.

Big easy do you layer with super soil on bottom and base on top? How much super soil do you use?
I just use soil I buy from Amazon. I'm using BioBizz or some shit right now for the first time. Usually use Fox Farms, Canna, or Plagron. Doesn't make much if a difference. Don't over think it. It's a plant. If you don't fuck with it too much and you'll be fine.

Here's an auto I've started in living organic soil.

View attachment 3324771

Start the seed in happy frog.

Once you get your first or second set of leaves then topdress with a bit of amended soil. Then let it grow then transplant up when ready.

Don't listen to that crap about layering the soil in the pot, make a homologous mix and use it.

Either transplant up or start right into your large pot, but don't layer the soil like that.

Let me know if I can help.

FYI I realized my best bet with organics was to mix my own soil from the get go and I haven't regretted it since...
?
You could fill the pot up to around 4 gallons and start straight into it, the seedling will stretch a bit and as it grows you could fill in the rest. My autos have all been started in small pots and transplanted up. As long as you don't damage the roots then there shouldn't be an issue, but do what your comfortable with.

You could start in a larger pot but keep in mind the larger pots hold more water so it'd be easier to over water the seedling. I find its easier to water and care for them in a pot appropriate for their size, I think I'd kill a seedling in a huge pot lol

I don't have too many grows under my belt either, I just read a ton. If you're interested in organics there's recipes for soil mixes all over the place, and after the initial investment it's seemingly pretty smooth sailing...

I'm no expert, that's for sure. I just figured I could answer your question because I'm currently growing an auto in organic soil :-)
I using HF with my autos 3gall pots germ first then planted write in that pot 37 days ago 26" tall

I've done the layered planting - seed starter mix top 1-2", 50/50 super soil/seeding mix 2-6" under that, super soil in the bottom, start the seed in whatever you want to finish in. This has worked the best for me, planting directly to SS, or seed starter mix right on top of SS has resulted in stunting and poor growth..I believe the SS was too "hot" for young growth. The seed starter mix/50/50 mix buffer the plant until it can take full advantage of the SS. I could always tell when they hit the full strength SS..UP, UP AND AWAY!

Thanks WeedFreak. That's similar to what I have chosen to go with. Top 1/3 all happy frog, next 1/3 half happh frog half super soil and bottom 1/3 all super soil. In 5 gallon pots. What size pots do you use with your method?
