Auto flower questions

Just a couple of quick questions:

1. Do Autos have to be started under T5/Blue spectrum and changed to HPS later? Or do they go straight under HPS from seed?

2. I have Plant Magic OldTimer grow and bloom. What kind of nutes should be given to autos and when?

Appreciate the help and prefer this forum to googling away.

you can start any plant with hps. no matter what you do your auto's are going to go to budd, put them right under hps and use what you normaly use to veg and budd your plants, I would only run the lights 18 hrs for no more than a month, you cant clone them, so do your topping, trimming and all that before you go to 12 hrs!

I hope this helps!

Good Luck!

Peace

treat them no different than normal seeds...other than you don't switch to 12/12

I thinking you have never actually grown auto's with that advise

so autos get 18/6 for their whole life? I thought it was 12/12 the whole time. Can you clarify please?

ISK you say treat no different to normal seeds. So start under T5. But how long under T5 before putting under HPS. I have simple questions here but keep finding more and more conflicting/incorrect advise.

I need a step by step guide as for 1. lighting (spectrum and duration)
2. Feeding.

If you haven't grown Autos how can you answer?

Does anyone in this thread understand the meaning of an automatic? 12/12 not required. They flower, you guessed it, automatically. Any proper grow light will do, blue spectrum for the first few weeks if you want, or HPS all the way. As long as you have enough light don't worry about it.

18 or 20 hours of light a day, heck even 24/7 if you can afford the electricity. Autos are not photo period dependent.

Isk knows what's up.

Yea that's where you gotta decide, based on reading, which methods are right for you. Autos are just like photo plants with a shorter predetermined life cycle. Apologies if I'm a little pissy, haven't wake and baked or drank any coffee yet this morning. What info are you seeking?

auto plants are simple

1 u can grow it under a HPS but naturally the plant will be more stretchy ...the blue light will keep her tighter

2 u need the full feed plan for what ever u are using not just those 2 parts
http://www.amazon.com/FoxFarm-Dirty-Dozen-Starter-Kit/dp/B00KC8HWTM
http://www.amazon.com/General-Hydroponics-Organics-Go-Box/dp/B004PS4B08
http://www.amazon.com/General-Hydroponics-Flora-Performance-Pack/dp/B008UCCCII
http://www.amazon.com/Technaflora-Recipe-Success-Starter-Kit/dp/B0001XGP32

those are 4 different complete feeding kits.....see how they have those other add ons then just the 2 u have .....u need to get the full set of that feed (then u are able to fallow their plan)
first plan u grow always do it naturally using the feed plan this is your baseline plant .....u can tweak the feeding and train skills and get a honest feed back if u did better on the plant or worst ....your learning curve will be a few months then u will not need us anymore

the cool thing about auto plants is u can use both lights if u want at the same time during the whole grow on a 20/4 time

We usually have one auto freebie going in my flowering tent, never had any issues always have turned out well. Don't feed them as much, give them at least 2-3 gallons of medium, and let them do their thing. Has always worked for us

NO CLUE what I did wrong!! I DID have them at 12/12 with 2700k lights which are for flower (which is probably what did em in) Thats the ONLY thing I can think of

I know the feeling mate. I am a storm of rage without caffeine . Let me explain my dilemma fully to you:

I started 5 Critical Skunk regular seeds (this is my first ever grow) and came to topping them. So I have 5 plants that need topping. Obviously one of them has to be first doesn't it? So I top the first one and accidentally mess it up a little, kind of like a FIM.
Time passes and pre flowers show. Guess what? only 1 female. Guess which one? The one I accidentally topped incorrectly. A couple more weeks pass and one of the 2 tops on said female (the part I damaged) is growing less than half as quick as the other top of the same plant. I inspect it closely and see it is showing some deformed leaves where they got cut and 2 tiny male pre flowers!

I make the decision to remove this top as this is now my only plant AND my first grow (I'm 800 quid down on grow equipment).

I've attached a pic of the plant as it was a couple of days ago next to a 1.5 litre bottle for scale)

Its healthy and hasn't shown any more hermy signs. It seemed logical to me after what I read that the stress of topping made the one branch grow up a little confused.

Now I have bought 5 Autopilot XXL seeds and basically am looking forward to getting them going; I thought
that they went 12/12 their whole life so could put them in with the Critical but now it seems I have to flower the critical skunk and then do the autopilots. It's a frustrating set back. I have half a mind to chop this critical and just start the autos but it's the sentimental value of my first plant getting in the way.

Any idea what kind of yield I would get from this plant? it's about 18 inches tall and I have super cropped, with nice knuckles now. It's in an approx 20 litre pot.

you can grow auto's in any light schedule, it just that 12/12 will produce smaller yields.

many auto growers will cycle either 20/4 or 24/0, pro's and con's to both I guess

I'm using plant magic soil supreme. All the other nutes you talk about are optional extras and my friend grew amazing green this way with just the soil and the grow and bloom, hence why I'm doing it, so can't agree with you that I need those extras. Cheers though.

look at the web page for what u siad u were using
http://www.plant-magic.co.uk/products/soil-supreme/14/

i understand what it is .......it is not Supersoil it is the base component in their soil grow system (click super soil u will get the original how too)

the 2 feeds u have are organic feeds crossed with a blend of micro/fungi made for that base.......but is still only part of it if u look at the site itself u get the idea of what they are selling
if u look at that compared to anything i linked u........ u will understand

your only using part of a system .......if u use all of it u have a better plant ....feeding is only augmenting the soil pushing the plant /given it extras that the soil does not have
rem every soil is mixed for general plant use .....each strain wants something different (diff lvls diff timing) that is what the feeding helps
