its been suggested to me that i might, can anyone please advise me on how to go about using an auto flower weed for the 1st time ?

ive only ever grown 5 plants before, all was a triumph, so im fairly confident ill manage it ...

just not sure on the light schedule due to the rapid growth of an auto flower strain.

i have 2x 250 cfl, and a 400 aircooled hps.

i normally use the cfl to veg and the hps to flower. [ open to suggestions ]

well basically, because it grows so fast im unsure about what light to use, ive got cfl and hps, shall i start on 18/6 and change to 12/12 when she starts to change, im just after as much general advice as possible ?

The more light during vegetating and flowering you can provide, the more flowers you will ultimately reap. I use CFL's fro the first two weeks, then HPS for the rest. For the first three weeks and change, i keep the lights on for 22/2. After about three weeks, i switch to 18/6. Most auto varieties will work with any lighting schedule, however, you can get the most out of your ladies if either a) consult the breeder specifications for lighting recommendations, if any, or b) Provide as much light as possible.
Because the life cycle of Autos are so short, vegetating as much as possible is key to getting dense, chunky nuggets. Experiment with different photo periods and keep them above or at 18/6. Use a good compost, and distilled/CalMag water, and you will be fine. Autos are EASY and rewarding! As far as stealthy, small grows go, smaller auto phenotypes are the way to go! Dig it! Ask anything you might be unsure about and i will do my best to help you out. Stay crunchy! Crunch*

Generally, more light = bigger buds, but all of the other limiting factors must be taken into account. The more light the plant uses the more nutes, water, etc. it will use. The temps will increase, it will use more CO2,. So basically just increasing the light will help but just keep in mind that a lot more than photons are needed to grow mj. I get most of my auto seeds from Dinafem and they recommend a 20/4 cycle for most auto strains.
