Hi so my auto turned out to not be an auto so now I'm left with this monster plant that's been vegging for months while my other autos grew . As I didn't want to waste my 600 w hps light on just one plant I planted all my seeds I had and am trying to get as many going as I can but this big plants just getting bigger and bigger while I'm waiting for the rest to grow big enough to bang into flower what can I do to make this work now ImageUploadedByTapatalk1442739743.316692.jpg the big plant is now at 36" tall from the floor to the top and some of my seeds have only just broken the top of the soil . I feel if I don't start 12/12 soon that I'll not have enough height space to cope what would you do in this situation ?

I would get it on 12/12 as soon as possible (under the 600 w), then I would use a few CFL's on the seedlings until they are ready for 12/12

BTW...what auto strain are you using

It happens man. Auto genes in my experience can vary greatly from seed to seed. Depends somewhat on the quality of the breeder. But nature is far more powerful. I culled a fast and vast cause it looked like crap. Not that all fast and vast are crap. But, me seed was crap. I would agree you need to try 12/12 or just cull it and move on. I mean, not all human babies are perfect either. Nature plays a big role.

Make some form of a tent to put over the big plant to block out the light. Make it big enough to allow for some growth of the buds and so it doesn't touch the buds when you lift it up. At this point you might be able to just put a 55 gallon trash can on top of it.

The seed was a free seed which said it was chocolate orange auto but it was in a tub with loads of other free seeds so clearly has been put in wrong place as this has been growing for months now and was only in a small pot till last week when I transplanted it over and I could tell by its roots that it was a photo plant as autos have total different kind of root set up I've noticed autos don't have as much roots . So I'm now growing a mystery plant . I've thought about chopping it down a little but think it would be a shame to loose all that growth now. I think I'll switch it to 12/12 today try train it to grow sideways best I can and take the small seeds to somewhere over night to leave them in somewhere with lights on and put them back in the tent in the morning each day for a few weeks then just let them flower as small plants next to this big one . I could stand them up on something to try raise them up to the lights a bit just sounds like a hassle but oh well lol . Hopefully the big plant will yield well to make up for the small plants . How long is the least I could veg the baby seeds to try get about an oz off each ?
