auto breeding Question

hi, i bought this auto strain called auto ak47x auto blueberry about 9 years ago from doctorchronic.com, and every year i have bred it with itself to make more seeds every year.. the growth is very consistent as are the yields, and ive never had a plant that wasnt auto,, but my question is.. Does doing this make it loose potency since its only inbred? or does that make a difference.. I barely smoke only on a occasion so I cant really tell.. but im just curious? because its what i give to others. thanks

Depends on what traits youre going by when youre back breeding it ..... honestly if done right youre just further stabilizing it

there always stable when I breed them with themselves, well pretty much they are" they get about 2-3 foot in bubbleponics as well as outdoors and my yields are very good,, and harvest is at the same times, I was just under the inpression that inbreeding/backbreeding or whatever its called, over and over looses potency I must of miss read my information. thanks

Although I'm not 100% ccertain, but I did hear the more times you cross them with themselves the less stable they become, I'm not too sure whether they lose potency or anything.
Also please visit my thread need help with my 1st auto gro. Peace n Pot

inbreeding can cause loss of vigor. You should buy some new auto seeds from a different strain, and cross it with your ak blueberry. Hybridizing a strain prevents loss of vigor.

If you rarely smoke, I wouldn't worry about inbreeding. The chances of your strain becoming really shitty is unlikely. You would have to select the shittiest plants, and pollinate them year after year.... which im sure you are not doing. If you pollinating the best looking female, this from of selective breeding will slow down the vigor loss of your strain.

Also, inbreeding will stabilize the strain. The dominant genetic traits will lock out all recessive traits after a few seasons.

I Thought it would loose stability the more you cross it with it self
It loses vigor to the point where it will no longer be viable unless you are using large numbers of plants for every filial generation. It will gain consistency. If you do use large numbers of plants you will maintain decent/good vigor. This also doesn't necessarily happen that quickly.

It takes commercial breeders about 15 years to stabilize a strain of tomatoes.
