Attic Grow & Heat

I'm forced to move my grow into the attic, but its hot as shit up there, and just as cold for that matter 49F overnight and 105F during day. I'm sure later in the summer the gap between temps will lessen (towards the high end), but I doubt that it'll make much difference overall when dealing with such high temps.

I have a small SCROG operation of only 2 plants at a time under 24x 14 watt cfls in a 2x2x4 box. My fan is rated for 250cfm but I have a speed adjuster and keep it on the lowest setting.

I was thinking that since I have a shit load of Styrofoam board/insulation that I could build a 4x4x5 room out of the foam and put my 2x2x4 box centered inside of it. I'd run an intake through the foam insulation to my bathroom vent since my house has central air so that I can pull cooler 70F air into the grow box. My fan will pull the hot air outside via the attic vent. I also plan on having my 6 hours of dark go from 1 until 7 since the east side of my house is shaded till 11-noon and the attic doesn't heat up until right around that time.

What are your thoughts? I could pick up a window ac unit if worse comes to worse.

You can insulate the box extremely well and it will work reasonably well but it will be expensive to keep it cool still. I tried growing on the second floor during summer and it was so expensive to run even though I insulated the room completely. If it were me I would likely do a micro grow inside your home versus dealing with a hot attic. I have an ideal location where even in the summer it rarely exceeds 90 degrees and it is on the first floor, heavily insulated. But I shut down the flower room from June - August because it's not economical to run.
