im thinking of making an attic grow space for the cooler months of the year, during the summer it will be WAY to hot. Im thinking of making a DIY grow tent out of 1x2x8. Come up with a design/frame then use black/white polyurethane to cover it all up. The length of the attic is huge; it is the height im worried about. The width is 10 feet across and 4 feet high (at the apex).

Im open to all suggestions!!!

do some serious LST and you should be fine (you don't have to do spiral you can LST long ways and basically have a monster bush laying on its side)

I would do what comed said and lst multiple plants sideways going the whole way of the attic and use 250 watt HIDs along the apex. Vent inline with a couple fans and have it pull air directly from the outside directly through the lights and directly outside. Then hook another inline fan up to a nice big carbon scrubber for the smell.

Bingo, would be perfect use of space.

i just did the same thing with mine . I have more height though i have 8 feet in the center . and 4 feet on the sides . it's a 10x20 . point is a used way to much of the space . I had to lay way more plastic then needed and my reflective material was pretty much useless due to the size of the room . I suggest getting some cheep 2x2x8 from home depot or where ever and frame it in just the size you need . less reflective and your fans / light will be more effective with less cubic feet also . one mistake i made was not making sure my exhaust fan was less cfm then my intake fan . so when they popped on my plastic started coming off the walls everywhere it was not stapled down good . next time i due a room i am going to just build walls out of the ridged insulation foam that has reflective surface built in and tape the seams . way cleaner look that way . If that's your attic be sure to put thick plastic on the floor you don't want any water stains coming into the house .
