I took a cutting from the bottom of my plant....a small one just to try this....placed it in a cup of water through some foil like a straw...its been 4 days now...it is still alive and the tip of it which was not flowering when I cut it (the plant is and was but this particular cutting was not)....is now flowering...pistils are shooting out of the top...sorry no pics I'm at work....no roots yet....how much longer for roots?

For me its typically from 4 to 8 days with the cup method. If 8 days comes, I just plant it in its veg pot and all is well. I hope it works for you as I was the one who recommended that method to you. I have RARELY had a failure this way. Are you giving it more than 14hrs of light?

It's already showing pistils because the mother plant was already entering flowering stage of its cycle basically the life fluid of the plant is still sending hormones to flower. I get roots in 12 days using coco with the green light rooting hormone I cut at a 90• angle, set cutting in water for 1 minute and dip in hormone. This is my method which isn't the best (Aero Cloners) but it works. So for you method I've read usually in cups you see root bumps in 2 1/2 weeks that's a read estimate just be patient and let her
do what she does I recommend not using foil as heat can build up under the cup and become to hot for the plant to root I recommend using a non translucent plastic or mylar.

I get roots in 10 days or so in water. Usually less. I get lots of roots in just days with AN Root Shooters but I only use them for smaller clones due to plug size. Tape your water glass top and bottom so NO light can enter and root development is much quicker in water.

I took one the same day I posted the pictures for you, so consider it a race.:eyesmoke:

And like Hotrod said, no light in your rootzone.

No light...its in a black glass coffee cup...through the foil like a straw...hole just big enough for cutting to fit through...no roots on urs yet either?

Nope, but shouldn't be long now. There's a few telltale nubs showing up though. The only difference we have is mine are on 18/6. I'm at day 6 since those pics.
