Attack of the brown Gargantua! HELP!

Has anyone in the group ever had to deal with brown algae (diatom) in a DWC hydrponic grow? I hear its a bastard of a problem. Myyung White widow plants have not yet extended their roots down into the reservoir... is there hope for my precious lil ladies? Thank you in advance.
