First get a lawyer, a good lawyer. This may cost you 5k or more.
Second, they fucked up, 1.) What was their reason for searching the car. Your friend being high? he wasnt the driver was he? Even if they had a reason to search your friend, they had no reason to search the car. But again, i have to see the police report, which is what you should do, ask for a copy of the discovery packet, take it to your defense attorney.
2.) You do have to read miranda right every time you arrest someone. However, not reading them doesnt mean you are free to go, it just means that all the stuff you say afterwards is not admisible,

The cops must read you your rights upon arresting you. The thing is that when it comes to that its your word against theirs so really they may or may not do it depending on if they have a partner. Ive been arrested for DUI, and several other charges and had my rights read to me everytime. Then I get pulled over for bullshit and get put in the back of the car when the officer is by himself but I am not arrested only being detained. Dont know about PA but cali is just a tic for under an oz. listen to newgrowth if you want to fight this thing cuz there are some details in your favor.

HEy man dont sweat that. You will be put on a first offenders program if you dont get a lawyer which if your short on money the only difference is you will have to do urcommunity service and u might get a misdemenior which will get expunged erased from your record when your 18.
