Around day 50 flower now. Thoughts?

Strain : Lemon Tart

Approaching day 50 of flower now. I can't remember the exact day I flipped to 12/12 but, it was the same week as thanksgiving.

She was locked out and started showing signs of toxicity. After feeding plain water a few times, she seems to have bounced back.

My main question is, are my buds looking fairly small for around day 50?
Will they continue to fatten this late into flower? Are there any current problems that you see with my grow?

I'm planning to feed for another week or two, then just plain water after that. Anyone have thoughts on how long I have left? I was guessing another 3-4 weeks (21-30 days).

Thanks Fellas!

Yeah, you're looking real good. What are you growing in? Soil? If so I wouldn't feed anymore. I'm no expert, but you might want to think about flushing. Though, there's debate on that, so I dunno, lol. I'm a new grower and I use fox farm. It's pretty hot so I barely use any nutes through out the grow.
You really gotta get you one of these. You got to look at the trichomes and determine when you when you want to harvest. Generally, you want to wait till the trichomes get milky. This is the scope I used along with my smartphone to take these pics. It's hard for me to take good pics but it's possible. Just hold the phones camera on the eyepiece of the scope. I know there's better scopes but if your one a budget this one is only $13 and itlit get the job done.
Lol, the top one looks like a penis or mushroom. I took this one this afternoon and chuckled to myself for a while. The bottom pic is just the fabric on my shorts.

Looking good! I'd say 3 weeks minimum for sure, beyond that it's a matter of preference. Once they finish full flower, they go through a short 'fattening' stage, they add on some bulk in short time before harvest:)
Thanks man, I was hoping they would grow a bit more. It’s my first successful grow so I’m a bit impatient haha.

I hope you don’t mind but I have a few more questions

Do I still feed compost teas during the final weeks?

Is it necessary to wash the buds before hanging? (haven’t used any pesticides)

Do the buds need to be hung in a dark room? Or could I hang them in a tent with another plant going?

You gotta be patient now, or all your work goes for nothing if you chop too early:)
I never did pure organics, but i usually feed until the last 2 waterings (10-12 days left)..then it's just some molasses water. If your feed is dialed in throughout flower, there is no need to flush at the end.
Washing buds? I never heard of this, and i would not suggest to spray them with anything to 'clean' them!
Usually it's suggested to hang them in a dark room or away from direct light at least. Reason being that light (maybe only uv, not sure) can affect thc.

Washing buds always seemed funny to me as well. I’ve seen some youtubers do it tho, such as Pigeons420.

As far as nutes, I’ll do the same and feed until the last couple waterings. I’ll try the molasses as well.

I have a clearer picture of what I should do now. Thanks for the advice, it was much needed! Hope you’re having a good New Years!

The reason i give the molasses at the end only, is for the soil...i reuse it, and so flushing it a bit helps for the next grow..soil is not hot going into it..and the molasses is for the microbes. Plants will give sugar back to the soil throughout the grow, but at the end stages, fruits, or buds in this case, like to hang onto the sugars for the blossom, so the bennies in the soil don't get as much as they should..hence the molasses. There is a misconception about flushing the nutes out of the plant, which in theory doesn't do what people think it does. 'Chemicals' or fertilizer, whatever you want to call them, do not build-up in blossoms (buds), so flushing does nothing for that, and that's usually the reason people want to flush at the end. Healthy plants, fed properly, need food until almost the end..it makes no sense to starve them for the last 2 weeks..the ripening phase!
Happy new year to you as well! :)

You should hang them in your grow tent with the exhaust fan on. Do not have a fan blowing direct air onto the buds while hanging. I made this mistake once and the buds dried out way too fast and as a result, the smoke was really harsh.
Don't start another plant while they are hanging, they should be in complete darkness.

You look on track for a 2-3 week finish. Get a handheld microscope and look at your trichomes. I use this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LAX52IQ/ref=twister_B00XJINDX6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I like to harvest about 50% cloudy for more of a euphoric, up high. If you wait till all cloudy and some amber trichomes you'll get a little more couch lock effect and of course this depends on the strain too.

If you get antsy nothing stops you from taking a bud quick drying in the oven and then having a taste. It will not taste as nice but you'll get an idea of the high. You can decide at that point. As for flushing, don't starve your plants when they are finishing up their final bulk. Just feed as usual.

Last I do a wet trim and hang to dry. I don't hang in the dark and I hang them in a closet in my flower room. Also with 10% humidity I dry fast. It doesn't make my weed harsher than it naturally is. I've also tried artificially increasing my humidity and drying slower, no change. Essentially test for yourself.

Nice job, your plants look good.

I'm growing in a 5 gallon fabric pot with a mixture of 70% BlackGold potting soil and 30% Black Magic potting soil.

Also, I bought this as my loupe : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DWG89KQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=AF18YLBZHBYOO&psc=1 . It was cheap haha.

I'll start checking trich's here pretty soon but, the majority still seem clear. A lot of my trichs seem super long like tentacles lol. I can see them when I zoom from the cell phone.

Nice job. Good luck the rest of the way. Be patient, you'll be glad you did.

I grew out a Lemon tart from a seed and harvested around day 65, probably could have let it go a little longer. Since then, flowered and harvested a couple of her clones and find that day 65 is about right for them. Your mileage may vary.

Been thinking of letting one go a week longer and see what happens.

My pheno is sativa leaning, if I were to guess I'd say 65/35 sativa/indica as Cali Connection seed description states. I think it might be a good one to grow scrog style and seems to have good powdery mildew resistance. Mine has good potency, but not a 9/10, hard to tell though since I tend to have a high tolerance. Nice smells too.

How did your grow go? Have you harvested this lot? Sure looks Juicy!

I harvested and it was 213 grams after the dry trim. They're in jars now but I feel like the buds are very airy and smell like grass/hay...very crystally tho.

Since this is my first successful grow, I am not too disappointed. I feel like I gained a lot of knowledge and am preparing for my next cycle. The seeds will be Larry OG and 818(Sour OG).

Does anyone have tips on keeping the buds dense and tight? Could this be a sign of excess N or could it just be the strain?

EDIT ::: It took me 5 hours to trim a single plant. I plan to grow 3 this time around...any suggestions/tips on trimming?

Bud density potential varies due to strain, but it can certainly be influenced positively or negatively based on growing conditions, lighting setup, grower skill, etc.

Good luck with your next grow.

The best information I've read and could share would be to read cold$mokes thread called "show me your drying setups" not only are there tons of different ideas from brown paper bag drys to entire designated drying rooms but all types of hints and tips as well as the pictures, good luck!

Ps. 5 hours per plant is about right
