Armoire Grow Design

ok guys let's build this thing. 3ft long 2 ft deep 3 ft in height. This is my current plan please tell me if I have the right idea. I figure 4 5gal fabric pots under mars hydro tsw2000. Drill 4in hole in bottom leftside front and 4in hole in top right-side rear for air flow. Fans in both. Place a small desk fan in top left corner to blow on plants. The box is in a metal storage shed that gets cold so ill need a small heater maybe? for winter. What do you guys think? I'm open to all ideas knowledge and fact based opinions.

3 gallon smart pots, remove bottom drawers so you can set them lower. Don’t hang the light affix it to the top so you have mire space when the plants reach & they will twice. So you’re gonna have to study LST methods & more than likely need a SCROG net.

4 3 gal smart pots Instead of fabric. I have 12 of those things lol. Is the mars hydro a good light? Do I need the holes in the side aling with than fan at top?

I was saying you should use 3 gallon smart pots which are made of fabric because they prune roots, by preventing them from going root bound and also restricts its potential to overwhelm the allotted space. Because the bigger you allow your root mass to expand the bigger your plant could grow. Don’t know much about mars but know a lot of people think it’s a pretty good light. As far as the hole for ventilation it depends on how hot the light you purchase makes the cabinet. LEDs run very cool & could be a consideration. Depending on what you were looking to spend on a light, I would set that number & find whatever light in that range works best for your situation. There are benefits on either side of the lighting spectrum.

I can tell you now Though a low profile light of any type is going to be needed if you want any type of wiggle room in their because it can get crowded very fast. LST & topping would be a priority for sure. So you can yield something nice.

Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate ur knowledge and willingness to share it with me. The mars hydro is a led light that is said to put off very little heat. I can get the 2000 watt for about 250usd. My concern with the holes is light leaking in during my dark periods. Im hoping just the fan mounted inside would create enough air flow to keep plant happy. Do I need a CO2 bag or some form of CO2 In a cabinet that small.

You could use a c02 bag. Also you should schedule your lights off period for later in the day, when it’s getting closer to the sun going down outside. If your cabinet will be against a wall you could cut a smaller hole and cover it with a patch of blackout screen that way a tiny fan can push heat out the back. Doesn’t have to be pretty, function over form.
