10 inces sounds a little close for a 1000w doesnt it?

is it inline hood or open reflector u got? inline hoods with air coolin can pretty much be touching the tops if u wanted; they're usually cool to the touch. but as long as the light is on the move, heat build-up over a plant won't be near as much of an issue even with an open reflector so u should be able to get fairly close still

oh by the way, 7 gallon pots? come on now... i thought the same way at one time, bigger pots, bigger plants, bigger yield... maybe outside, but it just doesnt work that way inside. when a plant is only in a 2 gal pot, during growth the roots eventually bunch up at the bottom since they have no where to go. this TRIGGERS them to bud, along with reduced light time, different spectrum, colder temps, different nuits... u should only be veggin for a few weeks, maybe a month, anyway. 2 gal is definatly enough size to grow great bud. brick top, no more giving advise till u do a little more reading..............
hey brick top... so like i was sayin b4... i have 23 plants under the one light. we use a 6 foot mover except the next 2 days cuz some plants are bigger than the others so i put the small ones in the middle and stopped the light right over them so hopefuly theyll catch up cuz we r flowering on monday. im really tyring to find out if having the light on a rail will decrease the amount of buds each plant will produce, compared to if i left the light in one spot and occasionally turned the plants. and we also jus cut a bunch of clones and some leaves are turnng yellow and some stems purple. I figure its the plants going through shock, but there are also like 2 or 3 leaves on my big girls that have some yellowish n brownish spots on it. I heard that could be from nutrient burn ya? one more thing.... i water once a day now, when i flower should i water twice a day or go the other way and water once every other day... thank you for any help
