F711336C-F1B6-4659-8381-3F96738A4FB4.jpeg ive only just begun using seeds I have always been a clone grower myself. I had ordered a lot of seeds from an online retailer In Europe I was nervous but all of them came and I planted some they all sprouted and look great they seem more hardy than a clone and the tap root seems to be key. What are your thoughts and take on this

I'm used to clones. I have seeds going now and they grow a lot slower. I'm hoping when the roots get established they will take off.

I think if you're not doing both your selling yourself short. What's the point of finding a nice pheno to kill it and start new seeds? Pop seeds, find keepers, keep moms or at least run em again and give cuts out so you can get it back down the road. And pop more seeds.

Last few grows I've been buying clones from the local dispensary, but it's always B grade genetics compared to a seed. I have 4 clones vegging right now and the nodes aren't growing evenly on two of them (all diff strains). Plus the main stalk never seems to get as thick compared to growing from a seed.

I just got 18 seeds in the mail from Europe so I think i'm done with clones.

That’s my thoughts exactly.

I like seeds, specifically regular seeds because I want males as well as females. I reproduce the strains I grow from seed and make crosses with them as well. I grow landraces and make my own crosses. I feminize crosses I made and provide fem seeds to my friends. I grew from clones for years. It's a great way to always have plants ready to go into flower but so is starting from seed. Plus with seeds you have a much larger selection of strains to choose from at any given time if your limited on space. It's much easier to store seeds than keep a bunch of strains going with mothers for clones. You'll lose pheno's along the way but you'll find more and I like the surprise. Either way is good and neither is better than the other. It depends on what you want. Some are satisfied growing the same strain multiple grows or indefinitely. I like to grow multiple different strains each grow so I always have a variety of numerous strains available to smoke.

For me. It's all about starting with seeds and pheno hunting them out for what I'm looking for in the strain.
That pheno is cloned and run/breed..

I also do most of my strain hunting by getting clones.... Skies Over Paris came from weedstock as a clone....
The real GG#4 was given as a clone.
Same for Dos i, Gelato, Bruce, and other high end strains..

Incoming clones are always a threat for something bad coming into your grow.
You can avoid that by doing a pyrethrin dip and then spray the media and container - Stopped bugs.
Once dry, do the same thing with Green cure and your done with molds.

I will still keep a close eye on these clones anyway....Still, if you follow that advise. I have not had something get in that way..

Got all excited last year for a cpl of clones that came in and forgot to do my dipping.....BOOM - Russet mites/PM....
Bitch to get rid of them buggers..
Had to finish out the bloom room and Sulfur burn hard to kill off the active spores. Then refill with new plants from the veg room (that had been sulfur burnt first).

All clean now.
