hello RIU,
i took some clones from a cheese mother i have but she wasnt the most happy mother in the world,

i let her get a little root bound and she grew into my cfl scorching her tips so i transplanted her to 12L of light mix and she seems alot better now...20181024_183105.jpg

the branches are verry woody with purple stripes all over much like the flowering cheese clones i was gifted a while bck that are at week 9flower and almost ready for the chop.

i took 8x clones from the lower branches like suggested by many growers, i then stored in RO water for a few min untill i was ready to trim them and use the clonex gel.

i put the clones STREIGHT into root riot cubes then filled the bottom 1/2 inch of the tray with light nutes and left under the dome for 3days at 90% himidity untill i removed the dome.

temps are between 70f/80f constantly
humidity is 60/75% constantly

cuts were taken on the 13th so today is 13days ans still no roots?
should i scrap them and go again or wait?
they still look alive since they are 2 weeks since being cut but im not sure if they will ever root???

20181024_183035.jpg this is my 3rd attempt at taking clone with no SUCCESS please help as im desperate to keep this strain.

im ready to follow a experienced growers instructions to the letter if it helps solve this problem im your pupil to the end lol

i have this feeling that it all started with my mother not being healthy and root bound but shes alot better now.

i think my mother needs a little less nutrients and maybe a little more calmag possibly?

Cubes look way too dry. .keep moist but not wet/dry
Use a hood and heat mat. Get humidity up to 80%^
are they still viable or should i go again?

i have a heated propagator so the roots stay walm and i removed the dome after 3 days like suggested in another thread.

humidity without the dome is around 70% but have also thought its to low?

I would leave the dome on for closer to 10/12 days.
They still look ok!, You can keep trying w those, or start fresh.
Keep the temp and humidity constant, after a week to ten days, lower the humidity gradually/slowly. Always keep the root plugs moist but not dry/wet

i noticed a little limping from a couple that were starting to dry out but ' i gave a light mist with TAP water and soaked the bottom of the clone tray.

24hours later there standing bck up wich has to mean there still going after 2weeks today

im optimistic at this point and will continue with these untill im at a poont where ive gotta stsrt again.

my mother plant is looking lots better in her new home so ' further cloning from here should be a thumbs up.

my uk cheese mother is a fussy eater , if i give her plain water inbetween feeds 'she starts to get a little deficency going on so, im thinking maybe feed her a little more EC 1.0 before a plain water feed?

correctly im feeding her.... 14ml per gal of ionic grow EC 0.7 = every other watering day
1 DROP of super thrive per gal = 1 per 2weeks
4ml per gal of enzyme = 1 per week

clones day 14 since cut

misting 2wice a day

Well done, its a great feeling seeing you have roots. My first time cloning, I took 4 snips, 3 made it, they're on week 3 of flower now. I leave them in the dome for 10-14 days, I dont bother checking for roots till atleast 10 days, spraying every morning and evening, then when the roots look strong I transplant them into cups.

its a great feeling , almost as happy as i was when my son was born lol

ive only seen roots on 3 clones so far but' a few more days and i think all 8 will root fine.20181026_061218.jpg

my plan is to keep my uk cheese mother going for a couple years and add another 2 stable strains to my mother collection, for a variety in smokes.

im strongly considering "SUB COOLS" JACK SKELLETON and RARE DARKNESS STAR OX.

any sugestions on a flavoured indica thats relatively short in nature with a small variation in pheno types?

I struggle to choose strains too, last batch of seeds I bought was in Amsterdam Seed Bank, had a good chat with the guy in there and left with 5 or 6 varieties, I like to mix it up, keep it interesting and different each time. I've been growing for years on and off, this is the first time that I've tried to keep a rotation going. When I took those clones at first I thought I lost them all, took about 4 weeks for some roots to show but I just kept trying them, they looked green and healthy so didnt want to dump them, eventually got to repot them! I think I posed about them here if you wanted to check my content.
Second time taking clones they rooted in about a week, I use aloe vera as rooting hormone, 5 out of 6 success rate so far, but that is going to get ruined soon, took 18 clones from the above ladies, be happy if half of them make it.

your clones look healthy with a vibrant green, i bet you get a better success rate than 50%
be posative my fellow grower lol im on cloud nine now for real.

i started out like alot if poor noobs purchasing mainstream strains from BARNEYS FARM/
GHS/DINAFEM/FAST BUDS/
FEMALE SEEDS.CO/
HEAVYWEIGHT SEEDS....

what i found was' all the above were in the same ball park as far as quality.
i grew out more that 12 strains and wasnt happy with any come harvest.

soon as i purchased some clones and grew them the same was as the rest 'WOW!! the quality in the strain was evident , i had spent a few years growing shit $50 packets of FEMINIZED seeds hoping that they will produce like advertised but no ' if you want quality you gotta pay for it' that simple.

RECOMENDED TO ME BY OTHER GROWERS....

dark horse genetics
karma
exotic genetics
Crockett family
subcool TGA
DNA
OG raskal
dank genetics
connoisseur genetics

WHEN I FIRST STARTED LEARNING ABOUT GROWING CANNABIS & DIFFRENT STRAINS ' GOOGLE SEARCHES WOULD LEAD ME TO BREEDERS/ POLLEN CHUCKER'S LIKE THESE....

green house seeds
barneys farm
dinafem
sweet seeds
humbolt seeds Co
ace seeds
big head seeds

im not saying there isnt gold in those there company's but' the chances of finding the special one is a lottery to be honest ,with lots of veriation but almost never like advertized?
#myexperianceonly

im not purchasing another fem seed from subpar pollen CHUCKERS!! that couldn't care less if we have a happy experiance with there strains or not

I almost dont want them all to root, I dont have the space! Lol
Its difficult getting into it, wondering if you are doing the right thing, choosing the right strains, all I can say is you cannot make the wrong decision because no matter what, you will learn from it! A lot of it comes down to how you grow, not what you grow.

all 7 clones rooted and have beem transplanted to small pots of coco/perlite mix.

i will be only flowering 3 plants this time since my HULKBERRY from RQS was so dense she got bud rot and had to throw her away, the 3 cheese and 1 AK plant were fine but over crowding made air circulation poor so i wont make that mistake again.

one problem growing different strains in the same tent is exactly that ' different requirements.

still a good yeild despite tossing the hulkberry plant, think it might be a record for me in the 2x4x6 under a 400w hps close to 400g i bet and that would be 1g per watt with HPS is good going.

doing a all uk cheese grow once this lot is dryed and i cant wait ' this strain is great to grow.
hardy strain that can take high levels of nutrients, resistant to mould, temperature fluctuation and is done flowering in 9 weeks 20181102_174545.jpg
