I forgot to say it but he says this is about a 3 month old plant that's been on 24/0 it's entire life. Had it under cheap blurple for the first 2 months then brought in 2 Mars Hydro TS 1000s

No clue. Grown from bagseed. Do autoflowers usually take 3+ months to start budding?
Usually not but was just curious. I’m a newbie so take what I say with a grain of salt lol. If the lights haven’t changed then I have no clue.

So they are just preflowers or is it transitioning to full on flower?
It's in the beginning of transitioning to full flower.

Extremely odd that it's flowering on a 24/0 light schedule after 3 months. The plant is also experiencing some other issues like nitrogen toxicity and perhaps overwatering.

Thanks so much for the response. He has 2 blurples hanging vertically next to it so that may be where the dark leaf coloring in the pics came from. But I did tell him to hold off on watering so often.

The nitrogen toxicity is not only indicative from the dark green leaf color but also from the extreme clawing down of just the tips. If they are fed a nutrient mix then lessen the veg part as that usually contains the highest amount of nitrogen.
