Are there differant stages to flowering...Mine seem slow to grow!!

My plant is about 30 days into flowering...It's a sativa....most of the buds are about the size of a nickel (maybe 120 bud sites)....a lot of crystals forming....tops of buds showing red hairs.....Is there a point during budding that buds explode/fill out or do some strains just have little buds.......They just seem to be growing very slowly.

i just posted a similar question. mine are bigger than a nickel though... and i'm 24 days into flower. my strain is BigBud. what is yours? and what lighting? pretty sure the pros will need some details to answer this question.

or when you say sativa i'm guessing you don't know strain just that its sativa?

It's bagseed...I'm guessing sativa because of the long finger leaves...one plant under a 400 watt air cooled hps and 4 25watt 6500k T5 lights to supplement lower growth

sativa's take forever! 30 days and little buds is normal (at least in my limited experience). they can take 9-11 weeks to finish - or more (sativa and sativa-heavy hybrids) and get big!

Oh it got big allright.....I started by tying down all the topps....Then supercropping.....It seems to have stopped all vertical growth...But now buds are slooooow

any have experience budding sativa's

i got one I am budding yall, and its takin a while. Do yall know if you can grow kb with bag seed. anyone ever ordered seeds?

yeah dude - number two grow journal (PPP) is a landrace sativa heavy hybrid.

My sativa's took forever,the indica's had massive buds all over them with cola's the size of soda pop cans while the sativa's just creeped along,one thing though,after about week 7 or 8 into flowering when i looked at the sativa's they seemed to slowly catch up,just a tiny bit every day,never any explosive growth rate but at some point they speed up a little every day.

The Sativa buds ended up being very long buds while the indicas were shorter & fatter,all in all the sativa's took about 15 weeks from the day i put them on 12/12,lighting was 2,400 watts of HPS.

Thanks for the info....My first grow....Bud crystals look good (Mmmmm sparkly buds)...like I said, they're 30 days into budding so, I could see how they have plenty of fattening up time to go.

It's kind of a let down watching them & waiting for them to show killer buds till one day,all out of the blue you start digging through the bud leaf & WOW,WTF happened,there are hairs everywhere & fat suckers too

As long as you keep em healthy, which by the looks of the pics ive seen of your grow they are, then you'll end up fine,its just a long road.

Woooo dont we all love Sats. take so long but damn worth it.

Ive noticed 3 stages in flowering in most plants ive dealt with.

8 week Indica for ex. Sat will take longer
1st- during the first week to week 3-4 the plant really stretches and puts alot of work into leaves and stem strength. it knows it will need lots of leaves and strong stems to support the big buds that are coming later.

2nd- week 3-4 -- 6. The plant starts producing the flowers, It knows its life cycle is coming to and end and starts producing lots of hairs and trichomes. by week 5 u should see buds and calyxes starting to form.

3rd- week 6--8/9. the buds really start to swell and take shape. major trichome production and you really see the calxyes start to swell. this is when your plants really start looking right and smokeable. but just wait. check your triches and harvest at the right time.

i might be way off in some aspects, but thats my drunken/stoned 6 am description of the flowering process. WOOT WOOT!

my sativa lady is now 7 and a half weeks in flowering......and it's true - it takes forever man .Check her out in my signature if ya want.latest picz on page #16. i'm curious about when the buds will Fill in like all the people says . i expect that to happen in the next two weeks.....hope i'm right . Wow,I started my babes into flower on 4:20 looks like I have a loooong wait ahead of me.But judging by the heavenly scent in my closet it will be well worth it,forgot sativas got so huge though im really glad I stopped at two.

Nope im convinced I will be able to sting up a hammock between the two very soon,and cover myself with one of my monstrous leaves...man those are some honkin leaves.
