Are there any pH pens that can be calibrated by using only distilled water?

Distilled water is not always exactly 7 ph, so even if there was a ph pen that said you could use only distilled water I wouldn’t trust the accuracy. Use the calibration solution, they are buffered to provide an accurate ph. A proper ph pen should need two steps with two different solutions. Don’t waste your time with anything different, you’ll just end up chasing ph problems that aren’t even there.

No.
There is an alternative to expensive pH pens that need to be calibrated regularly with 2 calibration solutions and a storage solution.

If your feed isn't the pH you want it do you take measurements multiple times?
I've been doing it so long that I don't even need to check the pH anymore........I know exactly how much pH down to add for the proper pH of my nute solution. At the beginning of each grow, I check it just to make sure my water pH hasn't changed and the drops are still good.

I mix my nutrients.

Add my pH down.

test.

if it’s at 6.0 I don’t correct.

if it’s still around 7 I add more pH down and test again.

if it’s near 6.5 I add another squirt of pH down solution (20ml pH- mixed with 80ml water in a bottle) and don’t bother testing again.

Usually though it’s only 1 test I need to do unless I’ve used some Si etc.
